The Nickleback frontman - who proposed to the Canadian singer after a whirlwind romance - has not yet introduced his mother to his future wife, and became red-faced when he had to explain they were getting married because his mom is a big fan of her music.
"You never know what your parents are going to say when you tell them you're getting married - especially when it's with someone they haven't met yet. My mom is a huge fan of Avril's, so putting her on speakerphone and telling her the news was hilarious and equally embarrassing."
The "Sk8r Boi" hitmaker has yet to even take Chad to her hometown, but he knows where she will take him when he does make it there. "I find [going back home] almost as terrifying as telling your parents you're going to tie the knot. You just never know when someone is going to come out of the woodwork with a story that's starts with, 'Let me tell you about the time...' But I know she is dying to take me to La Pizzeria to try her favorite pizza in the world," he added.

The 44-year-old talk show host proposed to his long-term girlfriend Molly McNearney while holidaying in South Africa's Kruger National Forest, his representative has confirmed. Jimmy and 34-year-old Molly - who is a co-head writer on her partner's show Jimmy Kimmel Live - began dating in October 2009, a few months after he split from comic Sarah Silverman after a five-year romance.
"After Jimmy and Sarah [Silverman] broke up, Molly and Jimmy both found themselves single, and they clicked. They're really happy together," a source said when the pair first got together.
The TV star has children Katie, 21, and Kevin, 19, with first wife Gina, whom he married in June 1988 and split from 14 years later. The marriage will be Molly's first.

Jennifer Aniston is "overwhelmed" by her eight carat diamond engagement ring.
The 43-year-old actress was thrilled when boyfriend Justin Theroux proposed to her on Friday and she couldn't be happier with the actor-and-screenwriter's choice of jewelry for her. "It's a huge emerald-cut diamond. It's a rectangle with tapered diamond baguettes on the sides. It's beautiful. Just after Jen got engaged, she called all her friends and told them about it. She was so happy and said she loves the ring. I think she was overwhelmed and overjoyed by the size and beauty of it!" a source said.

The actor-and-screenwriter proposed to Jennifer - whom he has been dating for just over a year - on his 41st birthday on Friday. "Justin Theroux had an amazing birthday on Friday, receiving an extraordinary gift when his girlfriend, Jennifer Aniston, accepted his proposal of marriage," Justin's representative told People. Jennifer's publicist also confirmed the engagement but no wedding date has been set yet.
The couple have been friends for years but only started dating after filming the movie Wanderlust together. This will be 43-year-old Jennifer's second marriage; she was previously wed to Brad Pitt for five years until they divorced in 2005.

Jennifer Aniston "always wanted Brad Pitt to be happy."
The actor's ex-wife has nothing but good feelings towards him after his engagement to Angelina Jolie - after seven years together - was made public last week.
"Jen moved on a long time ago, and she is trying to just focus on her own happiness. Jen is not a bitter person and she has always wanted Brad to be happy," a source told People.com.
Jennifer, 43, and Brad, 48, were married for five years before he met Angelina, 36, on the set of 2005 movie Mr. & Mrs. Smith. Since they split Jennifer has also moved on and is about to celebrate one year with boyfriend Justin Theroux: "Jen spent many happy years with Brad and thinks their divorce was meant to be. She is very happy with Justin - and that's what she is focusing on right now."
Brad and Angelina have yet to set a date for their nuptials.

The Hollywood couple confirmed yesterday that Brad has popped the question to his partner of seven years and Angelina's father Jon Voight couldn't be happier for the pair. "I'm very happy for them," he told US Weekly.
Brad and Angelina's engagement comes after it was revealed the pair may be about to work together for the first time since meeting on the set of Mr. & Mrs. Smith.

Liam Hemsworth is too young to get married.
The 22-year-old Hollywood hunk and his 19-year-old girlfriend Miley Cyrus were the subject of wedding rumors recently after the Hannah Montana beauty stepped out wearing what appeared to be an engagement ring but Liam says he won't consider marriage for some time yet.
"Marriage and kids are way in the future for me. I'm young. It's not really on my mind at the moment - marriage, kids or anything," he said.
The Hunger Games actor and Miley have been dating on and off since meeting on the set of The Last Song in 2009 and Liam is happy to be in a committed relationship because he finds it difficult to know what people's intentions are in Hollywood: "I like to surround myself with good people and good moral values. It's hard sometimes to work out in this town what people want from you - whether they just want to be friends or they really want something else from you."

Alec Baldwin has gotten engaged.
The 30 Rock star - who turns 54 on Tuesday - popped the question to girlfriend Hilaria Thomas at the weekend and the yoga instructor said yes. "Yes, it's true! Alec proposed to Hilaria this weekend and we're all excited for the newly engaged couple. Alec's birthday is tomorrow. Great way to celebrate!" the actor's representative told Us Weekly.
Alec and Hilaria, 28, have been a couple for almost a year and first appeared in public together at several bashes in New York in May 2011. Things had been getting more and more serious between Alec and Hilaria for months, and the actor recently revealed he was considering having children with her:
"Have I thought about having more kids? Oh sure, that would be great, that would be heaven, that would be fantastic... As my friend said to me, 'When you have children, typically in a second marriage, when you're older and you get married again to a woman who would have children, you must always remember that you make sure the children attend a college where the commencement ceremonies are held in a facility with a wheelchair accessible ramp.'"

Jamie Bell and Evan Rachel Wood are rumored to have tied the knot.
The pair - who met on the set of Green Day's video for "When September Ends" in 2005 - have been photographed wearing rings on their wedding fingers, fueling speculation they are now husband and wife.
Evan 24, was pictured wearing a silver ring with a diamond while Billy Elliot star Jamie, 26, had a gold band on during a walk in Venice, California, on Saturday. A source told RadarOnline.com back in December that Jamie had started looking for rings and was planning to pop the question.
"He hasn't made a purchase yet, but he is starting to seriously look and has met with a few jewelers," an insider said at the time.
The couple split after just a year of dating and Evan went on to get engaged to rocker Marilyn Manson before reuniting with Jamie last summer. "Evan and Jamie were really young and just getting going in their careers when they first met and they just weren't ready. Now that they are older and both excelling in their professional lives, I think they feel ready to take their relationship to the next level," the insider added.

Jesse Metcalfe is engaged. The former Desperate Housewives star has reportedly proposed to actress Cara Santana, his girlfriend of over four years.
A source told US Weekly the couple "have been dating for four to five years and living together for at least three."
Jesse is currently starring as Christopher Ewing - the adopted son of Bobby Ewing - in the updated version of 1980s soap Dallas and has been enjoying the perks of his new role with Cara. He Tweeted last week, "Takin' a private jet with my honey and the dallas cast for a press weekend in LA. (sic)."
Jesse, 33 - who completed a stint in rehab for alcoholism - has previously had a two-year on /off romance with Girls Aloud beauty Nadine Coyle which ended because the singer couldn't cope with the "Hollywood circus." She previously said, "Jesse was an actor in the States and for me it was too much of a circus. It all became too Hollywood and he was in rehab. That was too much for me."
