Bobby Brown Sentenced to Probation for DUI

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Music, Drunk, Legal Issues,

Bobby BrownBobby Brown will not face any additional jail time for his arrest for Driving under the Influence (DUI) last month.

The singer was initially arrested in March after police noticed he was driving while on his cell phone in California's San Fernando Valley, but after pleading no contest to one count of driving with a blood alcohol content of more than 0.08, prosecutors have dropped the charge.

He has instead been sentenced to 36 months of summary probation and one day in a county jail - which he has already served. In addition, he must complete a 90-day alcohol course.

Bobby blew 0.12 during the sobriety test and in California that is considered legally drunk. Speaking after his arrest, his attorney Tiffany E. Feder claimed he was taking the situation "seriously."

"Everyone is innocent until proven guilty and Mr. Brown was not driving erratically. He was speaking on his cell phone. Mr. Brown has not been convicted of anything associated with this incident. Mr. Brown is taking this matter seriously and an investigation is underway. The legal process shall run its course," he said.

Paris Hilton Charged With Possession

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Television, Drugs, Legal Issues, Rumors,

Paris HiltonLooks like the “It Wasn’t My Purse” defense didn’t get her out of this one: has been charged with cocaine possession.

The hotel heiress could face up to four years in prison after 0.8 grams of the illegal drug was found in her handbag when she and boyfriend Cy Waits were stopped and searched by police in Las Vegas on Friday night.

It has been claimed District Attorney David Roger - who is overseeing the case - is set to sentence the 29-year-old socialite to prison, because he “won’t tolerate celebrities” who get into trouble. “Roger won’t tolerate celebrities coming to Las Vegas and thinking they can get away with illegal behavior. It’s going to be extremely difficult for Paris to get out of these charges, even with the brilliant legal skills of her lawyer, David Chesnoff,” said a source.

She is due in court on October 27 over the felony possession of a controlled substance charge, which was filed in court by the Clark County District Attorney’s Office.
