Selena Gomez Struck with Lupus?

Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Music, Rumors,

Selena GomezFollowing Selena Gomez's announcement last week in which she told her fans that she would be canceling her Australian Stars Dance tour, fans were quick to speculate that it was due to exhaustion from her demanding career. Sources, however, have revealed that the former Disney star might actually be suffering from the autoimmune disease Lupus.

The insiders claim that the 21-year-old actress-singer was diagnosed with the illness a couple years ago and has managed to live with it since, but the disease's symptoms have taken their toll on Gomez recently.

"Selena has been going full throttle the past few years and her Lupus is really catching up with her right now. She knows that she needs to take some time to address the disease and look after herself better if she wants to live a full and healthy life," a source close to Gomez said.

Gomez's reps have yet to comment on the news, but from the looks of her latest Instagram photos - which see her among various family members for the holidays - she looks like she's doing well!

Control Freak Sharon Osbourne

Sharon OsbourneSharon Osbourne has "become a control freak" since her son was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS).

The Talk presenter admitted she has felt guilty ever since Jack found out he has the disease and has started fussing over him, even though she knows it annoys him. Speaking during the Judges' Houses stage of the X Factor, she said, "You go through the guilt, you go through the 'Is it me? Was it me?' and you through the family tree going 'Who died of what? Where did this come from?' I've become even more of a control freak. I think I I'm driving him nuts."

Sharon also admitted she panics over the smallest things now and even worries if Jack gets a headache. "He's got a headache and I'm all like 'Go to the doctors! I'll drive you myself!' And I'm fussing and asking him what he's eating and all of that kind of thing. He's as good as married and he has a baby and he left home about a hundred years ago and I'm still fussing over him. I think I'm driving him mad but that's what mothers are for," she added.

Gaga is not currently unwell with the disease, which can cause severe skin damage as well as harming many of the body’s organs, but is forced to pay special attention to her health to prevent her from falling ill.

“Lupus is in my family, it’s genetic. It’s funny because my mother told me the other day that my fans are worried because I did talk about the fact that I was tested for lupus. The truth is I don’t have any signs or symptoms of lupus but I have tested borderline positive for the disease. As of right now, I do not have it, but I have to take good care of myself.”

The 24-year-old singer recently underwent a series of medical tests after her aunt died from the disease. While she is trying hard to look after her health, the pop star is also busy campaigning to stop young homosexual people in America being judged by their sexuality.
