Mark Wahlberg to Return to School
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Movies,
Mark Wahlberg is going back to school.
The 41-year-old actor - who had a brief stint in prison aged 16 and has previously spoken of his behavior problems as a teenager - never finished high school, but is now embarking on an online degree program in order to complete his education, though he admits he is "nervous" about tackling some subjects.
"They had this new program in Massachusetts where you can take the courses online so I'm starting this month and getting my high school diploma. I've got to take on all the courses I've missed so I'm a little nervous. I'm going to make it happen though. I have a lot of downtime on movie sets in the trailer and stuff so I'm just going to blast through it in eight months or so hopefully."
Mark also revealed he had been in the running for a place in New Kids On The Block, his older brother Donnie's group, until he was sentenced to 45 days at Boston's Deer Island House of Correction aged 16 for beating a man.

Michael Lohan Behind Late Show Myth, Letterman ‘Apologizes’
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Television, Child Stars,
When the producers of the Late Show with David Letterman received a call from “someone purporting to be a friend” of Lindsay Lohan, there were understandably psyched about the possibility of having her appear on the show. Press releases were immediately sent out announcing her upcoming appearance.
Lindsay Lohan took to her own Twitter page soon after to refute claims that she would be appearing on the show, and the Late Show was forced to release more statements calling the whole thing a “mistake.” And the mistake's name is Michael Lohan, Lindsay’s dad.
Michael Lohan told TMZ that it was he who was behind the Lindsay-on-Letterman stunt, saying that he suggested nothing more than a Lindsay-led Top 10 list to the show. He says Linds green-lighted the idea, changing her mind only after her own people decried the whole plan.
Letterman delivered a bit of a tongue-in-cheek apology to camp Lindsay following the incident.

VIDEO: Michael Douglas Talks About Stage 4 Cancer
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Movies, Television, Videos,
We now know that a tumor found in Michael Douglas’ throat tumor is far more serious than everyone had hoped. During an interview scheduled prior to his diagnosis, the two-time Academy Award winning actor revealed that he has Stage 4 cancer.
“The big thing you’re worried about is it spreading,” the 65-year-old told David Letterman. “I am head and neck. It hasn’t gone down. The expectations are good.”
Although doctors had failed to detect the tumor earlier this summer while evaluating Douglas for throat and ear pain, the Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps star has been told his chances of a recovery are good. “I would hate to say, but right now, it looks like it should be 80 percent, and with certain hospitals and everything, it does improve.”

VIDEO: Salma Hayek Scared of Snakes, Eats Bugs
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Movies, Television, Videos,
Salma Hayek is definitely a woman who can keep you on your toes.
Although Hayek was recently caught on camera screaming after a snake spotting, it turns out her fear doesn’t necessarily extend to all things that crawl.
In this interview with David Letterman, the Mexican actress explains how much she loves dining on certain “delicatessens” (her word, not mine) like fried escamoles (ant eggs) with guacamole. In fact, just talking about bug-gy meals is enough to make the 43-year-old salivate.

Sarah Jessica Parker Calls Matthew Broderick Average
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Movies, Celebrity Babies,
Sarah Jessica Parker has accidentally branded her husband Matthew Broderick as “average.”
The Sex and the City 2 actress - who has seven-year-old James Wilkie and 11-month-old twins Marion and Tabitha with spouse - made the gaffe while discussing how she is relieved that her son is one of the oldest in his class because he is so short.
She told talk show host David Letterman, “James is, for the moment, more on the diminutive side. Some might call it a Napoleon complex, his age gives him some confidence because he is so mature. He’s a brainiac… well I think so, naturally. He’s not quite tiny - that’s on my husband’s side - well, actually Matthew is average…”
The 45-year-old star - who stands 5ft 3in compared with the actor’s 5ft 8in - tried to backtrack on her comments, insisting her husband is only “average in height,” and not any of his other attributes.
“Not average in personality or in intellect…. no, no, no, no, no. Let me clear this up. For the record, not in personality, intellect, charisma, talent, genuine likeability, well the list could go on and on. Anyway he’s average in height as I understand so the odds of our son being average in height and weight is perhaps promising… How am I ever gonna fix this?”
Are Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer No Longer Friends?
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Movies, Television, Rumors,
Has Jennifer Aniston been too caught up with her own relationships to focus on her friends’ love lives?
During a recent appearance on the Late Show, the actress made an embarrassing social faux pas. She stupidly brought up the fact that David Schwimmer was getting married, but could not name the person he was engaged to. “I don’t know,” she admitted to David Letterman.
Uh, was she not aware that Schwimmer had been dating the same person - Zoe Buckman, a 24-year-old British photographer -
since 2007?

VIDEO: Mindy Kaling Talks Twitter with Clueless David Letterman
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Television, Videos,
Ah - the joys of trying to teach someone about Twitter.
On tonight’s Late Show broadcast, Mindy Kaling (The Office) did her best to explain the social networking service to the talk show host. Unfortunately, David Letterman looked about as lost on this topic as Regis Philbin does on just about everything else.
Thank goodness Oprah’s already been schooled (or so we think).

It’s Time for the Tiger Woods Jokes
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Sports, Legal Issues, Videos,
Tiger Woods could write a book on how one goes from celebrated athlete to the butt of all the best new jokes in two weeks or less. In fact, a scathing, self-effacing tell-all might be his best route out of this whole media mess. But for now, public sentiment has moved from shock to silliness - and the comedians are starting to cash in with laughs.
SNL spoofed him, David Letterman cracked wise about him, even Jim Carrey delivered a zinger or two. Today, Marlon Wayans took the joke war to the mobile market with some right-between-the-eyes Twitter updates.
