Ashlee & Pete Wentz Give New Son Latest Hollywood Name
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Music, Celebrity Babies,
With beach names like “Zuma” already taken, where can a celebrity turn to for inspired baby names? How about Disney?
On Thursday evening, newlyweds Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and Pete Wentz welcomed Bronx Mowgli Wentz, their new 7 pound, 11 ounce baby boy. Where have you heard the name “Mowgli” before? Well, that just happens to be the lead character in The Jungle Book.
While many will question the choice for middle name, those close to the pair might have seen it coming. Just weeks ago, the mother-to-be was given a Winnie the Pooh-themed baby shower. Prior to that, the couple were married in a Alice in Wonderland-themed ceremony.
Congratulations to the new parents!

It’s time once again to congratulate those celebrities entering into parenthood:
- Marisa Nichols: The 24 actress and her husband became first time parents earlier today. Nichols and Taron Lexton, a director, welcomed a baby girl just after 2 AM this morning. Although Rain India Lexton wasn’t expected to arrive until October, she still weighed in at healthy 7 lbs., 5 oz.
- Andrew Firestone: The former Bachelor and his new wife, Ivana, have just announced that they are expecting. This news comes just months after their July wedding. The baby - who was apparently conceived right after the nuptials - is due in mid-April. Andrew, who was once engaged to contestant Jen Schefft, has been with Ivana since early 2005.

Ladies and gents - it’s time once again to recap those celebs currently heading toward parenthood. (Who knew a list written just two weeks ago would already be outdated?)
- Usher: Sources are reporting that the musician and his wife, Tameka Foster, are already expecting their second child. The newlyweds, who were married last fall, welcomed a son, Usher Raymond V, just 10 months ago. With any luck, the two will be saying hello to their first daughter this time around. Otherwise, we may be introduced to Usher Raymond VI sooner than expected.
- Minnie Driver: The 38-year-old Riches star became a first-time mother this past weekend. Henry Story Driver, who weighed in at a healthy 9 lbs., 12 oz., was born Friday in Los Angeles. The unmarried actress has opted against publicly naming the father of her child.

Gwen Stefani Names Child After Video Game
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Music, Celebrity Babies,
Okay - to be fair, I really have no idea why they chose the name. But it’ll always scream video game to me.
After what seemed like 18 months of pregnancy, Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale welcomed their second child this afternoon. The baby boy, who weighed in at 8.5 lbs, was named Zuma Nesta Rock Rossdale. Yeah, you heard me right.
Zuma, who was born at LA’s famous Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, is the second son for the two musicians. Their other child, Kingston, turned 2 in May. (Gavin also has a teenage daughter, Daisy Lowe, from a previous relationship.)
Stefani, 38, and Rossdale, 42, have been married since September 2002.

Another Boy and Girl for Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Movies, Celebrity Babies, Pregnancies, Breaking News,

When Jack Black (accidentally) told everyone that Brangelina was going to have a ‘Brady Brunch’-esque family soon, the comedian apparently wasn’t joking. Angelina Jolie gave birth to another son and daughter via C-section yesterday in France.
Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline - who both weighed in around 5 lbs. each - make a total of three boys and three girls for the Jolie-Pitt clan. Brad Pitt and Angelina already have one daughter (Shiloh, 2) and three adopted children (Maddox, 6; Pax, 4; Zahara, 3).
According to Angelina’s doctor, the surgery went smoothly. “Angelina is in very good spirits. Brad Pitt was at her side. He was there and all was well,” said Dr. Michael Sussman.
The Wanted actress is expected to remain at the hospital in Nice for a few more days.

Matthew McConaughey Becomes a Father
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Movies, Celebrity Babies, Pregnancies,
Although Mondays are not usually known for productivity, July 7 was definitely a busy day in celebrity baby land.
Hours after Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban welcomed a baby girl, Matthew McConaughey and his girlfriend said hello to a baby boy.
Back in January, Matthew called the pregnancy a “gift from God.” So it seems quite fitting that the couple ultimately chose a Biblical name. Levi Alves McConaughey was born at 6:22 p.m. yesterday evening and weighed in at 7 lb., 4 oz. The newborn is the first child for both for the Fool’s Gold actor and Camila Alves, a model.
In a joint statement, the couple said, “We welcome Levi Alves McConaughey into this wonderful life and look forward to living in it with him. In the meantime and all times, just keep livin’.”
Congratuations all around to both families.

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban Welcome Daughter
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Movies, Music, Celebrity Babies, Pregnancies, Breaking News,
Just this past Saturday, Keith Urban let a crowd of 50,000 know that he was going to become a dad quite soon. At his concert in Nashville, he dedicated the song “Better Half” to his “very, very, very, very, VERY pregnant wife.” Turns out she was very pregnant indeed.
Earlier this morning, Nicole Kidman and Keith welcomed a 6 lb., 7.5 oz. baby girl. The birth came just over a week after the couple’s second wedding anniversary (June 25). Although the delivery happened on a Monday morning, the newborn was named Sunday Rose Kidman Urban. This is the actress’ third child; she has two adopted kids - Isabella and Connor - with ex Tom Cruise.
In a post on his website, the country singer addressed the happy news:
“Earlier this morning, Nic gave birth to our beautiful baby girl, Sunday Rose Kidman Urban. We want to thank everybody that has kept us in their thoughts and prayers. We feel blessed and grateful that we can share this joy with all of you today.”
If the rumors are true, Kidman may have more to celebrate in the months to come. Us Weekly recently reported that the actress’ best friend, Naomi Watts, is expecting her second child with Liev Schreiber.

Angelina Jolie Doing Well in Hospital
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Movies, Celebrity Babies, Rumors,
UPDATE: Entertainment Tonight has finally acknowledged that it was previously ‘given false information’ about the twins’ birth.
A news conference held earlier today told Entertainment Tonight something that program didn’t what to hear: Angelina Jolie has not had her babies…yet.
The media’s presence in the South of France has grown ever since the actress checked into the hospital earlier this week. But according to the facility’s rep, the 33-year-old’s stay had been “planned for a long time.”
During Tuesday’s presser in France, Jolie’s obstetrician told photographers they’ll have to patient if they want to stalk the family; the newborns will be welcomed sometime “in the weeks to come.” In the meantime, outlets shouldn’t fill time speculating about Angelina’s current condition.
“Everything is normal. She is very well, and she’s okay. ... Brad and Angelina want everyone to know that everything is going well.”
So Mary Hart—do you think ET will finally get around to printing that retraction now?
