Simon Cowell has named his son Eric after his father.
The reality TV mogul and his partner Lauren Silverman have decided to name their firstborn - who was delivered two weeks early yesterday weighing six pounds and seven ounces - in honor of his late father, who passed away in 1999.
"Very happy to say Eric was born at 17.45pm. Healthy and handsome," Simon, 54, wrote on Twitter. He later added, "Lauren in great shape. Thanks for all of your kind messages."
The couple had been rumored to be naming the baby Simon, and the star teased they had settled on a moniker for the tot last November, but they were determined to keep it a secret: "Actually, we agreed on a name last night, me and Lauren. I'm not going to say what it is yet, but I'm happy."

Christina Aguilera is engaged to Matt Rutler.
The "Fighter" singer's boyfriend proposed on Valentine's Day yesterday which she accepted, before showing off her huge new diamond ring on Twitter.
Underneath a picture of the couple holding hands with her new ring prominently on display, she wrote, "He asked and I said...... [sic]."
A source close to the couple, who have been dating since 2010, told People.com, "They're very much in love and are really excited to take this next step."
Christina met Matt on the set of Burlesque in which she starred and he was a film assistant. At the time she was going through a painful split from her first husband Jordan Bratman, which was finalized exactly three years ago yesterday. They have one son, Max, six, together, whom they share custody of.

Lil’ Kim Is Pregnant

Lil' Kim is pregnant.
The 39-year-old rapper has revealed she is expecting her first child and she can't wait to be a mother to her little one when it arrives. "I'm so excited! I'm a few months along. I can't wait to be a mum!"
The "Magic Stick" hitmaker sparked rumors she was pregnant when she turned up at New York Fashion Week yesterday sporting a huge baby bump beneath her clingy dress. She then took to the stage at the Blonds Fashion Week after party in New York to sing "Lighters Up," which she dedicated to the late Notorious B.I.G. "It's also going to be Biggie's birthday and the anniversary of his death soon so we [as she points to her belly] love you," she told the crowd.
However, the brunette beauty is showing no signs of slowing down and is adamant the baby won't stop her working: "I'm still going to work. I'm still going to be hardcore, the baby has made me even more of a beast!"

Jade Jagger Expecting Third Child

Jade Jagger has announced she is six months pregnant.
The 42-year-old model, whose 21-year-old daughter, Assisi Jackson, is also pregnant, has revealed she is expecting her third child, as she awaits the arrival of her first grandchild. The British jewelry designer, who also has a 17-year-old daughter, Amba Jackson, with her ex-boyfriend Piers Jackson, proudly showed off her growing baby bump in a photograph on Instagram on Tuesday, and wrote, "Happy to announce this granny is going to become a mummy I'm 6 months pregnant xx double whammy this year.''

Melissa George Gives Birth

Melissa George has given birth to her first son.
The "Good Wife" actress and her boyfriend Jean-David Blanc welcomed baby Raphael into the world on Thursday, and the 37-year-old beauty couldn't be happier. She announced the news on Twitter yesterday, writing, "Welcome to the world! Our beautiful son just born at the American hospital of Paris. There are no words to describe the love."
The Alias actress previously revealed she fell for the French entrepreneur instantly when they met in 2012 and always knew he'd make a great father: "It's a cliche that when you know, you know, but it was kind of effortless. When I met Jean-David, it just evolved into an extension of our love. It's absolutely the greatest news because we're so right for each other. It was love at first sight. We knew, instantly. Everything else went away. Everything went quiet."
Melissa was married to Chilean director Claudio Dabed until for 11 years until they split in 2011, but says she's not ruled out a wedding with 45-year-old Jean-David in the future. "I'd [get married] again in a heartbeat. I don't think 'because it didn't work out the first time, it won't work out.' When you have a baby together, it's something that would be an extension," she added.
Scarlett Johansson Quits Role as Oxfam Ambassador

Scarlett Johansson has quit her role as an ambassador for Oxfam.
The 29-year-old actress - who has been working with Oxfam since 2007 - has stepped away from actively supporting the charity which opposes all trade from Israeli settlements due to a "fundamental difference of opinion."
Scarlett's move comes after she received criticism for her support of SodaStream - a home soda maker - which has a factory in an Israeli settlement in the West Bank. "Scarlett Johansson has respectfully decided to end her ambassador role with Oxfam after eight years. She and Oxfam have a fundamental difference of opinion in regards to the boycott, divestment and sanctions movement. She is very proud of her accomplishments and fundraising efforts during her tenure with Oxfam," a statement released stated.
Oxfam wishes the brunette beauty luck with future endeavors but accepts their different stance meant they were "incompatible." The charity said, "While Oxfam respects the independence of our ambassadors, Ms. Johansson's role promoting the company SodaStream is incompatible with her role as an Oxfam Global Ambassador. Oxfam believes that businesses, such as SodaStream, that operate in settlements further the ongoing poverty and denial of rights of the Palestinian communities that we work to support. Oxfam is opposed to all trade from Israeli settlements, which are illegal under international law."

Lady Gaga has been nominated for the Outstanding Music Artist prize at the GLAAD Media Awards.
The "Applause" singer has been recognized by the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender organisation for her long-standing support of gay rights, reflected in her new album ARTPOP. The pop superstar faces off against Elton John, Vampire Weekend, Tegan and Sara and Goldfrapp in the hotly-contested category.
There are a grand total of 130 nominees for the 25th annual GLAAD Media Awards, which celebrates outstanding representations of the LGBT community in areas including music, movies, TV and journalism - including 93 nominees in English-language categories and 37 Spanish-language nominees.
Other notable nods include new Netflix prison series Orange Is the New Black for Outstanding Comedy Series, Oscar-nominated Aids drama Dallas Buyers Club in the Outstanding Film - Wide Release selection, and the Michael Douglas and Matt Damon-starring Behind the Candelabra for Outstanding TV Movie or Mini-Series.

Kelly Clarkson Expecting a Girl

Kelly Clarkson is expecting a baby girl.
The "Since U Been Gone" singer confirmed she is having a daughter with husband Brandon Blackstock yesterday morning. "We just found out we're having a girl officially! I knew it! Only a girl could cause this much drama with all this vomiting ha! [sic]," she wrote on Twitter.
Kelly - who is four months pregnant - has previously tweeted about her battles with morning sickness, writing, "Ladies if you r pregnant & sick as a dog trust me when I say the one thing u will keep down might just be ''baked potatoes'' #godblesspotatoes [sic]."
"Didn't throw up once from pregnancy while walking my dogs #smallvictory #TMI [sic]," she also wrote alongside a picture of her dogs.

Gwen and Gavin Expecting a Boy

It's another boy for Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale!
The No Doubt singer announced on her Instagram earlier today that she and her Bush rocker husband will be looking forward to raising a third son. “I was ready to hand over the crown. but I guess I am still queen of the house. #itsaboy #surroundedbyboys," she wrote in the caption accompanying a photo of her wearing a crown.
Gwen and Gavin - who have been married for 11 years now - are already parents to Kingston, 7, and Zuma, 5.
Back in September 2012, Gwen revealed in an interview that she had hoped for a third child sooner: “I really, really, really wanted one about two years ago. And it didn’t really work out... So... I feel good with what we’ve got. Everything works out how it should. You can’t plan anything, right? You can try."

Ashlee Simpson seems to have found love again with Diana Ross' son, Evan.
While vacationing in Hawaii, Evan - a musician and actor - popped the question to the "L.O.V.E." singer last Sunday, just a little over half a year since they began dating. Judging from the numerous photos snapped up of Ashlee gazing happily at her ring, it seems safe to say that she said, "Yes" to her 25-year-old boyfriend.
On Monday, Ashlee confirmed her engagement by sharing the news with her fans via Twitter: "My baby love and I are ENGAGED!!! Hallelujah Hawaii !!!!! [sic]."
Evan had previously hinted to his asking Ashlee to marry him back in November, saying, "I'm so in love and we've got amazing things going on. And we inspire each other. She's the one."
Ashlee previously dated Fall Out Boy musician Pete Wentz, with whom she has a 5-year-old son, Bronx.
