Lauryn Hill has been jailed for three months for tax evasion.
The 37-year-old former Fugees singer was told by a court in Newark, New Jersey that she will also have to spend three months on house arrest and nine months of supervised release, despite her attorney claiming during the hearing yesterday that she had managed to repay more than $970,000 of her debt.
Lauryn - who pleaded guilty last year to three counts of tax evasion for failing to file returns on $1.8 million she earned from 2005 to 2007- had asked for leniency because of her six children and charity commitments. She insisted she had always intended to pay but couldn't return to music to earn the money because of her family.
"I needed to be able to earn so I could pay my taxes, without compromising the health and welfare of my children," she said.

Carey Mulligan says she "never"' gets recognized.
The 27-year-old actress has no fears about being mobbed by fans in the street as it is in fact her husband Marcus Mumford - frontman of band Mumford & Sons - who receives the most attention when they venture out together, with his fans usually ignoring her.
"I'm not worried about being a household name. I never get recognized. My husband is recognized all the time. His fans barely look at me," she told LOOK.
However, Carey's role as Daisy Buchanan in the big-screen adaptation of The Great Gatsby could increase her public profile. The British star insists she has little in common with her alter ego - especially in the area of romance - she feels she can relate to the troubled character:

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon Celebrate Anniversary at Disneyland
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Music, Television, Weddings, Celebrity Babies, Clothing, Style, Photos,
If there was an award for Most Adorable Vow Renewal Photo, Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon would nab it in a heartbeat.
The pair celebrated their fifth anniversary (and their children's second birthday) at Disneyland on Tuesday (to the dismay of everyone who wanted to go that day, considering the entire park was shut down for the event) - Cinderella style. Carey dressed up as a princess while Cannon went as Prince Charming; their twins Monroe and Moroccan were styled in miniature versions of their parents' outfits (cute at first, but a little weird at the same time if you really think about it).
The singer and American Idol judge replicated the fairy tale - naturally - down to arriving in a pumpkin carriage. "Slowly making our way to the freezing cold guests #donthatemebecauseimasiva #cinderella," she wrote on Twitter.
How will they be able to top this for their next wedding anniversary?

British Child Actor Claims to Be Father of Michael Jackson’s Kids

A former English child star is claiming to be the biological father of Michael Jackson's children.
Mark Lester, known for his portrayal as the title character in the 1968 musical Oliver!, has opened up to the media about believing that the sperm Jackson asked him to donate years ago went towards creating Prince Michael, Paris, and Blanket.
"After Michael asked me to donate sperm for him I completely forgot about it... I remember Michael ringing and saying, 'Oh, you don’t have any fertility difficulties do you?'Then out of the blue about a year later, he mentioned sperm donation and I agreed. Michael set it up for me to turn up to a clinic in Harley Street, London to do it. It was weird. I went in a couple of times to donate but we never talked about it ever again. It was a really strange request but while Michael was alive I never gave it another thought. I didn’t donate to get something out of it."

Keira Knightley Marries James Righton

Keira Knightley married James Righton in front of 11 guests in France today. The couple - who got engaged in May 2012 after meeting through mutual pal Alexa Chung - exchanged vows shortly before midday in a low-key ceremony at the town hall in Mazan, 67 miles from Marseilles, before speeding back to her family's nearby $5 million vineyard for their reception in a silver Renault Clio.
"It was a very moving ceremony. Keira looked extremely moved by the whole thing - there were certainly tears of happiness. It was sunny day without a cloud in the sky. There were cheers of 'Well done, Keira' when she came out, but there were so few people present so they didn't make much noise. It was amusing to see them being driven away in a battered old Renault Clio - it certainly looked as though it had seen better days," a source said.
The 28-year-old Anna Karenina star wore a custom-made short strapless dress, believed to have been created by Karl Lagerfeld, pale pink ballet flats, a cropped Chanel jacket and a delicate floral garland around her head.

Miley Cyrus: Engagement Feels “Right”
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Movies, Music, Engagements, Rumors,
Miley Cyrus thinks it feels "right" to be engaged to Liam Hemsworth.
The "Party in the U.S.A." singer claims her relationship with the Hunger Games actor is progressing naturally, and the pair - who were rumored to be experiencing problems recently - have simply made a conscious decision not to be so open about their personal life to the media.
"We have a house together and dogs. It just seems right to be wearing this ring and to be committed. But we keep our relationship low-key and don't talk about it any more. We were too nice to the world and gave them too much insight - into my life and my puppies and my house - and I just don't feel they get that privilege any more. Like on my Twitter, I'm much more ... not conservative, but you don't see a picture of my dogs. You don't get that personal stuff any more."
Miley, 20, and Liam, 23 got engaged last summer after falling for each other on the set of rom-com The Last Song in 2010, but Liam has reportedly got "cold feet," and the wedding has been postponed, amid speculation he was fed up with Miley's constant partying.

Will.i.am has opened up about his battle with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.
The Black Eyed Peas star revealed he struggles with concentration and impulsiveness, but he is learning how to "control it": "I have ADHD, I'll admit it. Did you hear about the elephant that got into that fight with a gorilla? Sorry, that's my ADHD kicking in. I've got all this stuff in my head at the same time as I'm doing stuff and I don't know how to stop or slow down. But it's all good because I know how to control it."
The producer - who is also currently a judge on The Voice UK - admitted some of the "traits" of the disorder - such as restlessness and constantly thinking - impacts his music in a good way. "For every obstacle there is some type of solution. So if you have ADHD it's your passion point. One thing I learned about ADHD is that it's hard to keep your attention and you can't sit still and you're always moving and thinking about a bunch of things. But those traits work well for me in studios and in meetings about creative ideas," he explained.

The late King of Pop's brother - who is uncle to the "Thriller" hitmaker's three children, Prince, 16, Paris, 15, and 11-year-old Blanket - has allegedly refused to pay the money he owes to Alejandra Jackson to help her raise their two teenage sons, Jermajesty and Jaafar, after falling behind on his payments over the past year.

Kanye West wants to move to Paris. The rapper's girlfriend, reality TV star Kim Kardashian, is expecting the couple's first child this summer and the rapper wants to move the whole family to the French capital once the tot is born.
"Kanye has his heart set on it. And when Kanye wants something, Kanye gets it. Period. He's obsessed with moving to Paris," a source said.
However, Kim, 32 - who is famously close to her family - is unhappy about her partner's plans and trying to convince him to spend the first six months of their baby's life in Paris before making Los Angeles - where they recently purchased a huge mansion - their permanent base. The insider added to OK! Magazine ,"Kim's mother Kris Jenner is adamant that it's a terrible idea. She's worried. The baby will be born at Cedars Sinai [hospital in Los Angeles] where her niece and nephew were born. Kim loves Paris but would never give birth to her first child away from her family. She met with doctors in Paris so she could set up for the child's first six months. She has agreed to spend the first six months in Paris with Kanye and their child."
