The press are always the first to act when a celebrity makes a mistake. We love nothing better than seeing the perfect tumble into a big pile of oops. But when the press makes a mistake regarding a celebrity…that’s when things start to get ugly.

Look on the left-hand side of OK! Magazine’s latest cover, which refers to Jessica’s little sis as “Ashley” Simpson instead of Ashlee Simpson. Uh-oh.

Misspelling a starlet’s name may not seem like a big deal - hell, it happens every day on Google searches - but when something so monumental actually slips past the editing desk it is a serious problem. OK! now has egg all over its face…er, page.

“It’s highly embarrassing and, sadly, someone will probably be fired,” stated one rep from the mag.

As harsh as this may sound, the statement is undoubtedly true. The cover editor of the mag will no doubt be tossed out on their ear this very afternoon, if not sooner, for letting such an oversight slip past the desk. The media leaves very little room for screw-ups, and misspelling a starlet’s name is one that definitely isn’t going to fly.
