In just a few weeks, MTV will ring in the new year with its contribution to this “era of change.” That’s when eight strangers - including a hot-tempered Portuguese beauty, a Puerto Rican/Italian glam rocker/rapper and a small town girl from Texas - will have their lives taped while trying to “express their opinions and pursue their passions” in our nation’s capital.
Will the Real World‘s 23rd season just bring more booze, sex and scandal to Washington, D.C.? Or will the political backdrop actually inspire the cast members to become role models rather than reality stars? Find out when The Real World DC debuts on December 30.

Real World Packs Bags for Washington D.C.

A few weeks ago I said the Real Housewives franchise was coming dangerously close to becoming the next Real World. Who knew it was actually the other way around?
Weeks before the launch of Season 22, the producers of the MTV series announced their newest destination: Washington, D.C. That’s the same location Housewives will be hitting up next. Has President Obama started a trend?
“Young people have never been more engaged in what’s happening in this country and Washington, D.C., is the perfect place for The Real World cast to express their opinions and pursue their passions,” executive producer Jonathan Murray said in a statement.
Look for the nation’s capital edition to debut sometime in 2010. Meanwhile, Real World: Cancun premieres on June 24.
