Make no mistake: The Last Templar is no Da Vinci Code. Last night, the first half of NBC’s two-parter was outmatched by a repeat and a reality weeper. CBS’ Hallmark offering only did slightly better. By night’s end, the Eye network was on top with the viewers while ABC was a winner with the demos.

  • (13.3 million, 2.6/6 in 18-49) was up 8% from its last original episode.
  • A 2-hour (11.6 million, 4.0/10) had the best demos of the night.
  • (7.1 million, 1.9/5) was up 1.3 million.
  • (2.6/6) averaged 5.5 million over two episodes.
  • CW’s airing of Antitrust (0.3/1) registered 770,000.

Last night’s Steelers/Ravens playoff game was by far the evening’s biggest draw. The competition on the gridiron - coupled with a special episode of The Mentalist - gave CBS easy wins in both categories.

Friday Ratings: Friday Night Lights Scores Higher Than Lipstick Jungle

There was a little bit of good news and bad news for NBC this weekend. Although the network saw smaller numbers for Howie Do It‘s second outing, the return of Friday Night Lights did better than the previous time slot holder (Lipstick Jungle). Unfortunately CBS’ dominant lineup made any improvements seem laughable.
