Friday Ratings: Show of Support for Farrah’s Story

NBC’s documentary about Farrah Fawcett’s cancer struggle put up a good fight against a string of finales. Although the Eye network was a winner with the viewers, the Peacock tied CBS in the demos.

Friday Ratings: CBS Takes Another Friday

Although CBS’ lineup faced two season finales on ABC, the network’s numbers actually improved. CBS almost doubled what its nearest competitor did with the viewers.

Friday Ratings: FOX Continues to Wilt

At this point, no one-two combination could possibly help FOX’s Friday. The network’s recent attempt to pair Prison Break with Dollhouse resulted in dismal numbers.

Friday Ratings: Prison Break Has Quiet Return

Prison Break‘s long absence did not make the heart grow fonder. After months off the calendar, the retiring series returned to a new day and disappointing numbers. CBS’ slate of repeats wound up winning the night in viewers while ABC placed first in the demos.

My Boys

(You can view TV Envy’s Midseason Programming Schedule here.)

MONDAY 4/20)
  • Dhani Tackles the Globe (Travel, 9pm):  “The host attempts the Gaelic sport of hurling in Ireland.” Despite what you might believe, drinking is not involved in hurling. At least, not in in this case.
  • Table for 12 (TLC, 9pm):  “Eric and Betty take the entire brood to the dentist.” Betty had been threatening to give them “something to scream about.”
  • Ax Men (History, 10pm):  “Jimmy finds a once-in-a-lifetime log.” That’s all any mom can hope for. Right after seeing their son get married and welcoming their first grandchild.
  • The Hills (MTV, 10pm):  “Heidi and a relucant Spencer begin couples therapy.” Spencer had been hoping to meet with Dr. Phil, but he was too busy with the Octo-mom.

Friday Ratings: Terminator Ends Quietly

Although it was only listed as a season finale, The Sarah Connor Chronicles most likely ended its entire run on Friday. Despite impressive numbers after its initial debut, the series closed with only 3.6 million viewers.

Friday Ratings: Flashpoint Tops Slow Evening

On an evening with no basketball games and a Ghost Whisperer repeat, Flashpoint came off strong. (At least, when compared to most of the programs out there.)

Friday Ratings: Signs of Life for Dollhouse, Terminator

After weeks of steady declines, FOX’s Friday night lineup did something unusual: it improved. Terminator and Dollhouse‘s increases gave the network a slightly less embarrassing 4th place finish.

This Week on TV (3/9-3/15)

Kings

(You can view TV Envy’s Midseason Programming Schedule here.)

MONDAY 3/9)
  • Dancing with the Stars (ABC, 8pm):  Season premiere. “This season, a new feature in the early weeks is a dance-off between the bottom two couples facing elimination.” Steve Wozniak + moon walk = elimination-proof.
  • The Big Bang Theory (CBS, 8pm):  “The guys’ trip to San Francisco takes a detour once they learn that actress Summer Glau (appearing as herself) is on their train.” If you don’t already know who is, you probably shouldn’t be watching this show.
  • How I Met Your Mother (CBS, 8:30pm):  “Ted reunites with his college girlfriend (), prompting Lily and Marshall to reveal how much they loathed the snooty woman.” From what I recall, one can easily bond with Prepon over a quick smoke break.
  • Castle (ABC, 10pm):  Series premiere. “Well-known mystery writer Richard Castle is questioned by a fiery detective about a serial killer reenacting murders from his books.” Kinda sounds like Basic Instinct, sans a naked Michael Douglas. Or Sharon Stone. Or Jeanne Tripplehorn.

Friday Ratings: Terminator Continues to Weaken

Terminator Salvation‘s future may look bright, but the same can’t be said for The Sarah Connor Chronicles. This past Friday, the once-hot sci fi entry struggled to do 1/6th as well as it did when it originally premiered.
