Jesse Metcalfe Enters Rehab

What is the deal with young Hollywood? I guess you can make an argument that celebs like Lindsay and Britney are at least getting help for their troubles. The next rehab candidate is former hottie gardener from Desperate Housewives, Jesse Metcalfe. According to reports, he started treatment at an undisclosed rehab facility on Monday to “deal with alcohol issues.” I guess the weekend tuckered him out—according to E! Online, Metcalfe was seen at four L.A. clubs …

Tara Conner’s Reign is Almost Over

Doesn’t it seem like just yesterday when this whole Miss USA brouhaha overtook the media and started a spat between Donald Trump and Rosie O’Donnell? If you recall (and if you just wiped the whole thing from your memory, I don’t blame you)—Tara Conner won the Miss USA competition and then almost lost the crown because she was a party girl. Trump took pity on her and let her keep the tiara, provided she go to …

George Foreman to Judge American Inventor

The second season of American Inventor will feature Foreman grill-meister George Foreman. Oh,... what? Right, he’s also well-known for being a heavyweight champion. But I’m betting these days his claim-to-fame is those little grills. In all, four judges will oversee the competing inventions, including former talk show host and entrepreneur Pat Croce, inventor Sara Blakely and British mogul (and executive producer) Peter Jones. Jones also appeared last year on the show. American Inventor also gets a …

Prison Break Renewed for Third Season

I’ll admit it. I loved Prison Break during the first season, but have steadily lost interest this year. The start of season two, I’d watch the show while doing something else… the last few weeks, I just haven’t watched it at all. I do get second-hand info from my husband and recaps, and it does sound like things are picking up again. But a third season? Honestly, what are they going to do for a …

The End of an Era for TRL

Total Request Live, true to its title, has always been a live show. That’s about to change, at least partially. In an effort to save money, MTV has started taping TRL two days a week… but fear not, live shows will still air on Mondays and Wednesdays. No changes will be made to the title and no other changes will be made, including editing. The show still maintains much of the original “spirit” just done …

You’ll have to excuse me while I sniffle about this news. Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant will not continue with a third season of their show Extras. You may recall that they made the same decision about their first show, The Office—they did, however, wrap up The Office by giving fans a special episode. History is repeating itself here, with Gervais and Merchant ending Extras after just two seasons and offering up a special. If …

Today’s Late Show with David Letterman will have something different—an absent host. Letterman came into work for a taping of the show earlier today, but had to leave because of a stomach bug. What to do when your host is sick? In this case, the show looked no further than one of the guests—Adam Sandler. That’s showbiz, folks. The show must go on, even if your fearless leader is throwing up elsewhere. Luckily, he had …

Apparently there are no limitations to talk show host overexposure.  And since Oprah has the magazine, book promotion, TV movies and satellite radio markets covered—Ellen Degeneres was forced to go a different route:  Greeting cards. Fans of Ellen who need more than a daily fix of cutesy will now have 32 specially designed greetings to choose from.  Each card will feature illustrations of the comedianne along with her trademark humorous quips.
