Mophie Juice Pack Plus more than doubles battery life of iPhone 5

Following up on the Juice Pack Helium ($71) and Juice Pack Air ($92), Mophie has announced the Juice Pack Plus for iPhone 5. This is the highest-capacity iPhone 5 battery case offered by Mophie, the company that made these accessories a common purchase for Apple smartphones. On the inside of the Juice Pack Plus you'll find a 2100mAh battery that the company says will add a whopping 120% of extra battery life to your iPhone 5, which is good enough for 10 additional hours of talk time, 12 hours of Wi-Fi Internet usage, and 12 hours of video playback.
The Mophie Juice Pack Plus is available in black right now, with white and Product (RED) versions shipping within the next two weeks. All models cost $120.

Mophie Juice Pack Air for iPhone 5 now available for $99.95

Hot on the heels of the Juice Pack Helium, Mophie has announced the Juice Pack Air for iPhone 5, its second battery case that works with the Lightning-equipped Apple smartphone. The Juice Pack Air packs in 1700 mAh of power, enough to double the battery life of your iPhone 5. As with other Mophie Juice Pack cases, you get charging pass-through, the ability to switch charging on and off on demand, and enhanced sound by redirecting the audio towards you. The Juice Pack Air for iPhone 5 also ups the ante by upgrading the charge output from 0.5A to 1.0A, which means you get a faster charge. As for colors, you can choose between monochromatic soft touch black, glossy white, or metallic red - a Product (RED) device. Check out the video after the jump.

Mophie Juice Pack Helium arrives to keep iPhone 5 charged

The iPhone 5 launched four months ago, and power users everywhere have been waiting for a compatible Mophie Juice Pack--the wait is over, as the Juice Pack Helium for iPhone 5 has arrived, supporting the new Lightning Connector. We chat with Mophie about its line of iPhone and iOS device chargers in this interview from CES 2012. Mophie's Ross Howe, the company VP of Marketing, gives us the latest news on the Juice Pack Air, Juice Pack Plus, Juice Pack Outdoor Edition, and the line of external chargers that Mophie has available. As you can see, we're fans of that orange Outdoor Edition. The big (literally) addition to the Juice Pack line was the Powerstation Plus, which can basically recharge your phone from empty to full a bunch of times, which means you could potentially go camping for a weekend without electricity and still keep your devices charged the whole time. Okay guys, as much as we like our Mophie Juice Packs for keeping the iPhone juiced on the go, it’d be downright irresponsible of us not to bring this fantastic iPhone backup batery from Monoprice to your attention. The same company that brings you stupid-cheap HDMI cables is now selling a 2200mAh iPhone and iPod battery that’ll recharge your iPhone almost twice from near death, and the cost is only $15.23 - and it’s even less if you buy more than one. Sure, it’s fugly and nowhere near as sleek as a Mophie Juice Pack or Juice Pack Air, but it’s cheap! Sometimes that’s all that matters.

The Mophie Juice Pack Air is the latest iPhone 3G (and iPhone 3G S) battery pack to come out of Mophie, and is the follow-up to the Mophie Juice Pack 3G. We’ve actually been big fans of the Juice Pack 3G since it launched last year, as it’s kept our iPhones running for just about twice as long as they normally would. FOr days during events like CES, that meant we could be checking email and texting all day and night without worrying about battery power dying. Of course, the Juice Pack 3G did have one drawback—its size. With the Juice Pack 3G on the device, it was just too big to fit anywhere comfortable, including a pants pocket. Whoa! Gear Live is now five years old—can you believe that? I sure can’t. It seems like it was just yesterday that I started up this little blog, to share my thoughts on consumer electronics in my spare time, and eventually getting a friend to help me post some news. Before we knew it, this become my full-time gig, and we were adding writers, and sections, left and right. Today, Gear Live has over 20,000 articles spread across our various sections, headed up by some of the best writers in the blogging game. We’ve got video shows, giveaways, and a social network that we are building as well. Regardless of how many things we’ve got going on from the past, we will always have some neat tricks up our collective sleeves in the future.
