Exclusive: Hulu coming to Xbox Live at E3

Wondering what big announcements Microsoft has up its sleeve for E3, aside from all the Project Natal stuff? Well, it looks like Hulu is gonna be their other surprise. While everyone was looking to the iPad as the device that would kick off the subscription-based paid model for Hulu, it instead looks like the Xbox 360 is going to get that honor. We’ve heard from a very reliable source (who has never been wrong before) that Microsoft is set to unveil Hulu as an Xbox Live service at E3 2010. Similar to how Netflix is integreated into the Xbox 360 dashboard, Hulu would be there as well, and would require a subscription fee. We have no idea how Microsoft will charge for it, but our assumption is that you’ll pay for a block of access time (a month? a quarter?) by using Microsoft Points—but again, that part is just a guess. We also have no idea as to whether you will get the entire Hulu catalog that’s available on the web, or if it will be pared down for TV consumption, despite paying the premium.
E3 kicks off in two weeks, and we should know everything when Microsoft’s Media Briefing kicks off on June 14th at 10:00 AM PT.

all i can say is about f@#$@ time!!!...just wish i could also use hulu on the ps3 internet browser…but i also have a 360 so its all good…also sony please make it so you can use the ps-move with the internet browser that would make surfing it ALOT easier!!! and also its time to update the ps3’s internet browsers flash…its almost like using the dreamcast to surf around with now
it BETTER be free for gold members!!!! if its not then this is bullsh@# and will just prove that they are a bunch of greedy bas@#$@ and i WONT pay for something thats free on the internet!!!
It’s great that we get a new feature, but I wish this was free. It doesn’t make sense to pay to watch TV on my Console when I can do it for free on my computer. Netflix I can understand, but Hulu? I’ll keep wishing until E3 lands lol.
i agree. no way would i pay extra for the service. hell, i dont pay for xbl, i still leech off all the 1 month cards i got from all the used gta games at gamestop. ive been hoping that one of the systems would get it, but im not paying for it.
if its free cool if not then it depends on the price , hey ill pay if it means no more ad’s (commercials)
This is how it should be…You should be able to get it free with commercials if your gold or have the option to pay for it without them
“You can’t refuse what isn’t offered to you”
what about if a woman refuses to sleep with you but you dont rape her…yeah thats something to think about..right…
Okay let me get this straight. I pay 50 bucks a month for Xbox Live and now I have to pay more? I mean come on.
You wouldn’t be paying MS if it’s subscription based, you’d be paying hulu. Just like it is with Netflix.
Hulu among other internet based tv services have been available for quite a while just not too many people knew about it. i have been using a service called playon to stream hulu and other media to my xbox and ps3 for about a year now. It is pretty cool and only costs a flat fee that you pay yearly. I got it when it was cheaper at the 20$ for the first year and on but now its doubled for the first year. I still think that 40 for a year of service is pretty good and then its only 19.99 after that. I am not sure what MS will charge or how the new built in service will work, but the one with playon is flawless for what i have seen. check it out they have a 14 day trial so give it a try. http://www.playon.tv/playon
Hey Dru. Great scoop you got there! I’ve seen it all over the internets. Good job!
Personally I’d love it. Sure it would be nice if it were free, if not to all then at least to Gold members. But Hulu has been talking about changing to a pay service for some time. So if anything you’ll be paying them, not MS. I’m okay with that: it’s the same with Netflix and it’s perfectly reasonable.
Reiterating what the others have said, i would like it too! I want my Xbox to my hub and the only hub that I need.
thom90 is correct - why would i pay xbox when I have playon (one time cost of $20) that does this? silly if xbox requires subscription.
I’d pay up to $10/month for Hulu from my Xbox. Nearly all the tv I watch now is on Hulu from a laptop connected to my TV. I don’t get CBS but then again I don’t like Cop shows so I’m not missing much am I? I’m sick of paying Cable >$50 for crappy reality tv. I’d much rather paying Hulu.com a small fee for just a few shows I like such as Chuck, V, Castle and Glee.
Now that’s what I call a reliable source. I hope that exclusive didn’t cost you too much.
It’s awesome to finally have Hulu Plus for Xbox 360 users. Now we can enjoy watching videos online whenever we want with the use of our Xbox 360. These devices would require internet connection though, and it would be great to get them connected wirelessly through a wireless network in your home. However, old Xbox 360s aren’t WiFi-enabled. You have nothing to worry though, here’s a solution for that problem. Check out the Xbox 360 Internet Connection Kit from Netgear, it acts as a WiFi adapter giving wireless internet connectivity for your Xbox 360, and it also works for your PS2, PS3, and PC gaming. managment is very necessary for any work…. because without it no work can complete… paper work and presentation is the back bone of managment… proper planning prevent poor presentation.
