CES 2008 Video: Sandisk’s Sansa View and Sansa Clip

Sandisk never fails to impress with their MP3 players. At CES they were showing off the Sansa View and the Sansa Clip. These new players show up Apple’s current lineup not only in features, but as well as in price. The view’s new hotness: available in capacities up to 32GB (flash based, not hard drive). The clip trounces the iPod shuffle by offering not only 4GB for the price of 1, but also throwing in a screen, FM tuner/recorder, voice recorder, and an equalizer. Both players are available now for half the price (and twice the features) that their Apple made counterparts command - perfect for the thrifty music lover in your life.

Bleeding Edge TV 194: SanDisk Sansa TakeTV Demonstration

When it comes to the SanDisk Sansa TakeTV device, we’ve done an unboxing video and even show you how to set up the TakeTV in your home. In our latest video, we show you how the darn thing works. We have it hooked up already, so now it’s time to put some content on it and fire it up. Do note, the Sansa TakeTV does ship with a couple of sample video clips already on it in case you just want to test your setup.
Once we put some video files on it, we were able to watch some of them on the device - we forgot that the TakeTV doesn’t support high definition video, so those clips failed to play. Other than that, this is really a no brainer. There isn’t even a complicated menu system. You plug the device in to your TV, and you get a list of videos to play. Easy. So, a few days ago, we hit you with our TakeTV unboxing video, where we showed you everything that was inside the SanDisk Sansa TakeTV package. Today we wanted to follow it up and show you how you go about setting the thing up, just to prove that it really is as simple as it looks. We hook up the TakeTV device to our Samsing LCD HDTV in under a minute.
Stay tuned - we will have another video up in a couple of days that shows the actual usage of the device - putting videos on it, playing them through the dock, etc.

The recently released SanDisk Sansa Connect has been all the rage recently with a few of our readers. We caught up with SanDisk in the pre-launch window of the hip Wifi-enabled MP3 player. Priced at $250 USD, this Sansa Connect has Wifi that makes good on the capabilities of the technology, creating a true wireless player, unlike the crippled Wifi featured in the Zune.

We look at SanDisk’s first PMP, the Sansa View in this episode. The device has a 4-inch widescreen 640x480 display, and 8 GB embedded flash memory which provides for about 16 full-length movies. Even better, it has a full-size SD slot so you can add another 8 GB of memory to the unit. It’s also extremely thin, and feels great in the hand. It gets about 4 hours of video playback, and has a removeable battery, allowing you to add a higher power battery if you like. Available in March for $299 USD.
