Jennifer Lopez Could Return as ‘American Idol’ Judge

Jennifer Lopez on 'American Idol'Jennifer Lopez reportedly wants to return to American Idol. The 43-year-old star looks set to take back her seat on the judging panel when Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj - who quit the talent show last week to focus on their music careers - leave.

Her manager Benny Medina is said to have met with show bosses to discuss her potential comeback. "J.Lo's manager, Benny Medina, was in talks with FOX even before Mariah and Nicki announced their departures last week. Benny told FOX that she does indeed want to return. They're talking. Negotiations are in their infant stages, but they're underway to get her back to the judges' table," a source said.

FOX bosses are eager to claw back viewing figures after this season's finale saw ratings drop to 14.2 million, which is the lowest they've ever been since the show started in 2002. They believe a revamp of judges could be what is needed - including losing Keith Urban. "It's unlikely that this season's fourth judge, Keith Urban, will also stick around. The show needs an overhaul," an insider said.

Keith Urban Wants to Return to ‘American Idol’?

Keith UrbanKeith Urban has no idea if he is returning to American Idol next season.

The 45-year-old Australian country singer - who is married to actress Nicole Kidman and has two daughters Sunday Rose, four, and two-year-old Faith Margaret - has hinted that he hopes to be invited back to the show's judging panel because he loves working with new artists.

"I did as much as I could in the environment we had. I love artists. I love the beginnings of artists when all they've got is raw talent and nothing else. I have no official information of anything. I'm pretty much in the same boat as everybody else here with the rumors that have been floating around. I don't know anything more about what's happening next season. It was like this before I signed on... so it's not unusual for the Idol folks to be in this place of figuring out what they want to do, then they always pull it together."

Jennifer Hudson is the only celebrity confirmed for next season. Current judges Nicki Minaj and Randy Jackson have already confirmed they are leaving the show, and Mariah Carey is reportedly not planning to return either.

Dan Harmon Returning to ‘Community’?

Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Comedy, Prime Time, NBC, Gossip, Rumors,

Dan HarmonCommunity fans will be happy to know that show creator Dan Harmon might return for next season.

Despite the fact that Harmon parted ways with the NBC show in a less-than-peaceful manner, he accidentally revealed to his Harmontown podcast audience that he was welcomed back into the hit critically-acclaimed sitcom's fold.

"As soon as Dan said it, he asked that it be edited out of the podcast and it was just for us audience members (and I wasn’t going to say a word) but soon after that Dan said 'Ahhh #### it. I don’t care who knows!'" revealed a writer from Hollywookiee, who was present at the taping.

The writer also added that Harmon joked about only returning if Chevy Chase - who left the show during production of its fourth season - would agree to come back as well. Even if Harmon does return to writing behind the scenes, he didn't specify in what capacity; hopefully NBC will come out and give us such details now that Harmon has let the cat out of the bag.

Emma Roberts Joins ‘American Horror Story: Coven’

Evan Peters and Emma RobertsEmma Roberts is set to join the cast of American Horror Story: Coven.

The 22-year-old actress - whose Fox pilot Delirium was not picked up - is close to signing a deal to star in the third season of Ryan Murphy's FX drama alongside her boyfriend Evan Peters, according to TVLine. Emma will join fellow newcomers Kathy Bates and Gabourey Sidibe and returning castmembers Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Taissa Farmiga, Frances Conroy and Lily Rabe.

Although it will focus on witches, Ryan recently promised the third season of the show will be more upbeat than before. "It's a really cool story that we've been talking for a couple years, and this seemed to be the year to do it. What season three is about is more historical in nature. I'm also interested in getting into a horror romance. That's certainly something that's going to be in the water for season three. You're going to see a very different tone in season three, but that's the joy of the show. I think as a person right now I do feel lighter and wanting to embrace something a little bit more fun," he said.

Kelly RowlandKelly Rowland is in "final negotiations" to join The X Factor.

The Destiny's Child singer and Mexican superstar Paulina Rubio are expected to be announced as the new judges on the FOX singing competition on Monday, TMZ is reporting. After weeks of speculation, the pair are said to be signing a deal this weekend to sit alongside Simon Cowell and Demi  Lovato on the judging panel for the program's third season. They would replace departing judges Britney Spears and L.A. Reid.

Kelly is no stranger to reality shows, having been a judge on The X Factor UK in 2011, while Paulina coached for The Voice Mexico. This comes after Simon announced on Twitter yesterday, "We start x factor auditions in charleston on Tuesday. The new panel will be announced Monday. This is going to be an interesting show! (sic)"

His right hand man Louis Walsh also recently revealed the music mogul was looking to shake things up with a female-heavy panel this year. "I think he's going to use three girls. Three girls and Simon. He wants to be the only male there ... It's like Charlie's Angels. I think it will be Demi Lovato, Simon Cowell, Kelly Rowland and another," Louis said.

Nicki Minaj Leaving ‘American Idol’

Nicki MinajNicki Minaj is set to quit American Idol after one season. The "Moment For Life" singer has reportedly decided not to return to the reality show's judging panel because she wants to focus on her own music career.

"It's safe to say she isn't coming back to Idol. She's okay with it. She had a great time but was only going to do one season anyway," a source said.

The 30-year-old rapper joined the show alongside fellow new judges Keith Urban and Mariah Carey, and veteran judge Randy Jackson, who recently confirmed he is leaving the show. It was previously revealed that producers want to see the show return to a three-judge format next season for the first time in five years in a bid to combat the show's declining ratings.

Kevin Reilly, Fox's entertainment chairman, also revealed all of the judges, including Nicki, had been invited back. Speculation was rife as to whether Mariah and Nicki would return for a second season after a series of explosive public rows. Mariah was said to be planning to quit because of their vicious spats.

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Music, Prime Time, Reality, NBC, Gossip, Rumors,

Christina Aguilera on 'The Voice'Christina Aguilera is returning to The Voice. The pop diva will reclaim her judge's chair on the next season of the singing contest, ousting current mentor Shakira.

A mole told The Wrap that former panelist Christina - who left the show in 2012 after three seasons to promote her latest album LOTUS - is expected to return this autumn after signing a deal worth a rumored $17 million.

It is as yet unclear whether Cee Lo Green, who also departed last year, will be returning alongside Christina or whether his popular replacement, Usher, will stay on.

The current line-up of NBC's singing competition, which also features Adam Levine and Blake Shelton, has proved a hit with audiences and ratings are at an all-time high. Producer Matt Burnett confirmed Shakira's departure and explained change was a natural progress when working with successful recording artists: "Everybody can't coach for life because when you have people with current recording in the game, this is not their job. Their job is their fans and making music and being live, and so we knew from the beginning that this would happen, and we've had six coaches. They all have another life and their schedules."
