Tuesday Ratings: CBS Breaks 13-Year-Old Record

What do you get when House is a repeat and DWTS is gone? Another stellar evening for CBS. Despite a two-hour Biggest Loser finale, the Eye network had its best Tuesday viewership since 1995. Meanwhile, a strong night of reality helped NBC tie CBS in the demos.

The Biggest Loser's Michelle Aguilar8pm

  • (19.9 million, 3.9/11 in 18-49) had its largest audience in its six-year history.
  • Approximately 11.7 million watched Michelle Aguilar win (4.5/12).
  • ‘s Charlie Brown Christmas (2.9/8) kept 8.3 million entertained.
  • * (6.4 million, 2.4/7) lost 7.5 million.
  • * (1.1 million, 0.5/1) was down a smidge.

Muppets Christmas

(You can view TV Envy’s Television Programming Schedule here.)

MONDAY 12/15)
  • Heroes (NBC, 9:00):  “Mohinder may hold the key to rescuing Hiro.” I’m starting to wonder if Mohinder has the answer to anything.
  • 20/20 (ABC, 9:00):  “Teens put on a show in a chronicle of a Virginia high school production of ‘The Wiz’ that uses video diaries and interviews to follow the emotional drama of students.” Sadly, this is the same network that also put together the barely-watched .
  • Worst Week (CBS, 9:30):  “Sam helps Dick choose the perfect gift for Angela after discovering he gets her the same thing every year.” Just for the record: Some things like spa packages and jewelry can be given over and over again.
  • The Hills (MTV, 10:00):  “Heidi and Spencer consider eloping during a Mexican vacation.” Whatever you do - avert your eyes.

Tuesday Ratings: House, Repeats Top the Night

Thanks to a nice showing from House, FOX was able to nab the demos last night. Unfortunately, the network still couldn’t completely overpower a slate of repeats on CBS.

Who knew Simon Baker could get any hotter? Last night - thanks to the absence of DWTS - a very good show managed to get even better. The Mentalist even outperformed the always strong NCIS.

Friday Ratings: CW Actually Posts a Win

Okay - so it wasn’t exactly a win. And it really wasn’t by much. But this is the first time I can recall ever saying CW was tied for the lead in the overnight demos. (It shared the honor with ABC.) CBS, meanwhile, was yesterday’s most-watched network.

Tuesday Ratings: CBS and FOX Share the Spoils

A decline in Moment of Truth‘s performance helped CBS edge FOX in viewership. Nevertheless, Hell’s Kitchen pulled in strong enough numbers to give its network a win in the demos.

Tuesday Ratings: FOX Wins Without Idol

While the show didn’t come close to American Idol-sized numbers, the reintroduction of The Moment of Truth did well enough to help FOX win another Tuesday night.

Ben on Lost

(You can view TV Envy’s Summer Television Programming Schedule here.)

MONDAY (5/26)
  • American Gladiators (NBC, 8pm):  “A tree climber tries to rise above a SWAT officer.” If tree boy gets a chance at the wall, his opponent will have no choice but to gas him.
  • Flavor of Love 3 (VH1, 9pm):  “The cast of Season 3 reunites.” I often wonder what a sober Brigitte Nielsen thinks about this.
  • Denise Richards: It’s Complicated (E!, 10pm):  “Denise goes on a blind date with a so-called regular guy.” When you’re getting alimony and child support from your celebrity ex, you can afford to go out with “regular guys”.
  • Living Lohan (E!, 10:30):  The title of the tonight’s premiere is “Mommy Will Fix It.” I hope she’s referring to Ali’s hair.

Tuesday Ratings: FOX Sees Improvement

Although FOX has ruled Tuesday for quite some time, the network’s lineup has seen its ups and downs.  This week, both American Idol and Hell’s Kitchen rebounded from recent ratings dips.
