On Gear Live: Apple’s M5 Chip Made the MacBook Pro Unstoppable!

Although it’s still too soon to say whether Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler will channel Simon Cowell on next season, we have now seen a glimpse of their inner Paula Abduls.

In new promos for the show, the judges are only heard offering compliments and passes to Hollywood. Will we get to see their critical sides at a later time? We hope so!

American Idol returns to FOX on January 19. (Make sure to check out our other posts.)

Bristol Palin wasn’t crowned the next winner of Dancing With the Stars. But if she was paying attention to Twitter, she would have found out well before the season finale was over.

Midway through the broadcast, Interscope sent out a tweet that congratulated Jennifer Grey on her victory … before the show had announced it.

The tweet was deleted moments later (so you won’t find it now), but it definitely went out prior to the show’s big announcement.

Hmmm.

Simon Cowell on American Idol

“[Simon] Cowell can be a little harsh at times, but he upholds the highest standards and something in us recognizes and responds to that. Unfortunately Cowell is almost alone in his willingness to tell hard truths.”

MONDAY (11/22)

  • Rules of Engagement (CBS, 8:30 P.M.): "A sheepish Jeff asks coworkers to sponsor Audrey's 10K charity run after he's told them not to include him in office fundraisers." To be clear, he didn't want shell out money for things he'd have to eat.
  • Two and a Half Men (CBS, 9 P.M.): "Charlie spends money wildly for his old lover Courtney, who returns after spending three years in prison." Spending money on a woman who can finally relate to him? Priceless.
  • Skating with the Stars (ABC, 9:11 P.M.): "The series opener of an ice-skating competition that pairs celebrities with professional skaters. Contestants include Vince Neil, Bethenny Frankel and Sean Young." That is one motley crew.

Dancing with the Stars' Brandy and Bristol Palin

"Yeah, for me personally, it's probably the one that's the hardest to swallow. ...This season has just been ridiculous since day one. Just one after another after another. Brandy and I think this is the culminating point of this season, it just came crashing down. We almost feel like the effort wasn't worth it. We put in a lot of work. We put in a lot of effort. It's been a very, very difficult season. ... It just feels like it was an uphill climb the entire time and to really come that short of the finale. It's just very upsetting."

-Maksim Chmerkovskiy reacting to the surprise elimination this week on . (Maksim and partner Brandy saw Bristol Palin make it to the finals over them.)
