The Colbert nation has spoken…will the Comedy Central host answer?
Comedy Central fans have organized their own campaign to prod Stephen Colbert into hosting a “Restoring Truthiness” rally in response to Glenn Beck’s recent “Restoring Honor” rally, which was strongly backed by the GOP.
The idea seems to have sprung from a post on Reddit, and everything has snowballed since. A Facebook page and website have now been created for the rally, which has been given an October 10, 2010 date. A locale for the rally has also been named: Washington, D.C.’s Lincoln Memorial, where Beck held his event. Fund-raising and merchandising will help fund the rally. Any remaining monies will be donated to the charity of Colbert’s choice.

At the close of Tuesday night’s The Daily Show, Jon Stewart made a surprising announcement: he will soon be making an announcement.
Stewart made it clear that he “will have an announcement at some time,” which means “in the near to not-so-near future.” What he has to say may in fact be “the most important announcement in history … equivalent to 7.3 Gettysburg Addresses.”
“I don’t know what it is,” Stewart admitted. “Though I have my suspicions…and if I am right, it’s going to be huge.”

TV Talk: Better Off Ted’s Final Shows, Conan O’Brien’s New Name
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Late Night, Prime Time, Reality, Specials, Talk Shows, ABC, Bravo, Cable, Internet,
-Would you be better off with some Better Off Ted? The last two unaired episodes are now available for viewing on iTunes or Amazon’s On Demand service. They can also be streamed via Netflix.
-Domestic maven Martha Stewart has a new project in mind. “Who’s going to take (Larry King and Barbara Walters’] place as the serious, great interviewer? I’m throwing my name in there, because I love to talk to people.” She’s starting with a Sept. 19 Hallmark special.
-Bethenny Frankel might not be the only person MIA from The Real Housewives of New York City. The remaining ladies - who earn approx. $4000 per episode - reportedly want Snooki-sized paychecks. (The Jersey Shore star earns $30,000/episode.)
-Conan O’Brien finally has a name for his TBS show: Conan. “I’m just using ‘Conan’ and dropping the ‘O’Brien’ because I want to get away from the whole Irish thing,” the late night host explained.

Bethenny Frankel Done with Real Housewives
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Prime Time, Reality, Bravo, Cable, Gossip,
Who needs a hit Bravo show—when you already have your own?
Despite recently becoming a mother and an official wife, Bethenny Frankel has no interest in remaining one of the housewives. According to the Bethenny Getting Married? star, she’s calling it quits with her former reality show.
“Last season was scary and painful,” she said about The Real Housewives of New York City. “It took all of the joy out of it.”
And though a reconciliation between Jill Zarin and Bethenny seemed like a (very slight) possibility, Frankel says she doesn’t “see any reason to go back.”
This doesn’t necessarily mean we’ve already seen the last of Frankel on Housewives. She’s reportedly contracted to appear a few more times.
Filming on Season 4 will begin September 20.
