If you are the type that wears a cap just to look cool, the iLogic Sound Hat will certainly add to your sophistication level. Plug in your iPod or MP3 player through its 3.5mm jack and listen to your tunes via the integral speakers located inside the cap. Made from polyester with a fleece lining, it is washable once you remove the speakers and is suggested for those over 8 years old. At the very least it is a lot more comfortable than earbuds and one less cord to tangle. The Sound Hat is available for £14.99 (~$30.00.)

RAPHA has unveiled their multi-useful Speaker System. The SurroundXi will work with iPod/nanos, MP3s, MP4s, portable CD/DVD players, computers, and cellies. And if you don’t have one of those, just take your computer’s MP3 files and copy them to your USB flash key, then plug in. The speakers have Unique Weave technology that the company claims gives “brilliant crystal clear sound.” The SurroundXi is portable, comes in 6 different colors, runs on batteries (not included,) USB, or 6V adapter and carries a MSRP of $69.95.

Sony HT-IS100 Audio System

Sony has decided to downsize with their latest speakers. The 5.1 HT-IS100 system has 4 small 43 x 43mm speakers weighing about 70g. With a maximum output of 425 watts, it has a 3-prod HDMI input for the S-Master audio system. The company is also offering their HT-CT100, a 3.1 one speaker combo with one subwoofer, and a front center speaker with a 250W output. We always appreciate when Sony starts thinking mini.

The orbitsound T3 is a device that you wear around your neck, plug in your MP3 player, iPod, music phone, PSP, or PMP, and you get what the company calls “music in the air.” Battery powered, it is about the size of a cellie, is portable and lightweight, and features full airSound stereo. We were a bit curious about how it worked and discovered that the gadget “uses your chest cavity as a resonator to reinforce the sound from the unit when worn around your neck.” Uh-huh. Imagine earning your B.A. degree just by creating a prototype. That is almost what German designer Joonas Saaranen did by combining music with mobility. His Reppo II is a hardshell backpack that would be great on camping trips, bicycling, and even exercising. Inside are speakers and an amplifier. It took him about 8 months to build and his focus group seemed to think he had a dynamic idea. We do, too and hope he moves it along to reality.

JVC has unveiled its new series of Active Speakers. The SP-A440 was built with 2 sets of 1.3-inch drivers for what should be excellent and simplified surround sound. Stands are included for turning the speakers into different positions and angles. The EX-A10 features their Hybrid Feedback Digital Amp, decodes Dolby Digital and DTS Surround for two-channel output, and 3D-Phonic Surround Sound.
