Transcend 32GB RAM modules bump Mac Pro max to 128GB

The new Mac Pro is advertised by Apple to support up to 64GB of RAM. That's a staggering amount in our books, but some power users have balked at the limit, wishing for the option to stuff their Mac Pro with even more RAM. Well, it turns out that the limit was likely due to higher capacity DIMMs not being available--but Transcend has changed that. The company has released 32GB RAM modules that are compatible with the new Mac Pro, which supports four sticks. That'll bring your RAM to 128GB.
"The new Mac Pro 2013 is advertised to support up to 64GB of memory, and we understand that pro users running applications that place high demands on RAM have a need to meet and most likely exceed this threshold," said Transcend's Director of Research and Development Angus Wu. "For this reason, we have developed and fully tested higher density modules to give users the option of raising their Mac Pro system memory to the advertised 64GB right up to 128GB."
Transcend guarantees 100% compatibility with the 2013 Mac Pro, alongside a lifetime warranty. If you want the 64GB kit, that costs $980, while the 128GB RAM kit goes for a whopping $2480.

We love this limited edition Titanfall controller for Xbox One

Titanfall is one of the most anticipated games coming to the Xbox One this year, and developer Respawn Entertainment has teamed up with Microsoft on a special edition Titanfall Xbox One controller. As you can see in the image above, the Titanfall controller features custom artwork that pays homage to the game (although, to my eyes, it reminds me more of the Wipeout racing game series.)
"In a collaborative effort with the Xbox design team and the Respawn art department our goal was to create a controller that feels as if it is a piece of military spec hardware transported from the universe of Titanfall and into players hands," said Joel Emslie, lead artist at Respawn Entertainment.
To be clear, this is a standard Xbox One controller--it doesn't do anything extra that other controllers don't do--it just has the unique art styling and coloring. You can pre-order the Titanfall controller now, as well as the Titanfall game. Both will be available on March 11th.

Xbox 360 Sells 750,000 Last Week, more than Wii U and Wii combined

If Major Nelson's calculations are correct, the Xbox 360, a seven year-old console, has outsold the Wii U and Wii combined during the week of November 18th. The Wii U sold 400,000 units during its launch week, and the old Wii managed to still sell 300,000. The Xbox 360 sold 750,000. This is a remarkably high number for a console so late in it's life cycle, and it begs the question, do we need new hardware anytime soon?
The number of Xbox Live Gold subscriptions also increased more than 50 percent compared to last year's Black Friday week, with over 14 million people logged into Xbox Live on Sunday alone.
Sony hasn't revealed its numbers yet, but it looks like the Xbox 360 will end up being the best selling console in the US for November. You can pick one up on Amazon.

Xbox 360 gets custom design marking 10 years of Xbox Live

Microsoft has put together another custom-designed Xbox 360 console, this one celebrating the 10-year anniversary of Xbox Live. As you can see in the image above, it's a dark gray console with green and orange accents, and an "X" design papered all over the hardware. It's a great looking device to our eyes. It was announced on Twitter by Major Nelson, who confirmed that the company is giving these out to a number of Xbox Live members who've stuck around since the beginning.

The first iPhone 5 teardown is up!

The folks over at iPhone Garage got ahold of an iPhone 5 smartphone a little early, and they've given it the teardown treatment. It's nowhere near as the iFixIt iPhone 5 teardown that we're sure we'll see tomorrow, but it's still a glimpse inside the new, slim architecture that Apple has spent years perfecting. Just how thin will the next iPhone be?

It's pretty much a given that Apple likes to make its products as thin as possible, and it looks like the next-generation iPhone 5 will get that same treatment. An image has been put together by Sohu that shows what the next iPhone looks like compared against the iPhone 4S and iPhone 3GS in terms of thickness. As you can see, the front and back glass don't protrude from the metal frame, making the next iPhone even thinner if the leaked design is to be believed. We'll know for sure on September 12.

Leaked Apple part numbers reveal new Mac hardware for WWDC

WWDC kicks off in five days, and it looks like we at least know that we can expect a slew of new Apple Mac hardware and accessories. We're talking new MacBook Pro, iMac, MacBook Air, and even a very long-awaited update to the Mac Pro line. In addition, a new Airport Express seems to be in the cards, along with a new USB SuperDrive and USB Ethernet adapter that we are guessing will support USB 3.0. The Nest Learning Thermostat has been difficult to get ahold of since its launch, only recently becoming available on-demand to the general public. Now, it's gotten even easier. You can now find the Nest thermostat at Lowe's stores nationwide, as well as on the Lowes.com Web site. Lowe's is the second-largest home improvement retailer in the world, with 500 stores nationwide. If you've been waiting on Nest availability, head on over to your local Lowe's to pick one up.
