Twilight Succeeds, Censors Fail at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards

(Warning: Explicit language featured in above video clip).

It’s safe to say that MTV has moved from “edgy” to vulgar in the space of a single awards show presentation. The above clip is only one of the moments when the F-bomb slipped past the censors with incredible ease during the two-hour presentation of the , a live event which made the FCC positively crazy.

From the word go, the awards show was peppered with F-bombs. This video features Peter Facinelli, better known to fans as Dr. Carlisle Cullen, but he is certainly not the only celeb who decided to throw propriety (and federal communications regulations) out the window. The uncensored F-bomb was also slipped through censors by Get Him to the Greek star Jonah Hill, former Funky Bunch founder Mark Wahlberg, and more.

’s ensemble acceptance speech for Best Movie, led by the good doctor himself, is one to remember - and not just because the Saga took almost every award at the event.

American Idol Ruined By Homosexuality? Christian Newswire Says Yes

In this week’s installment of Extremely Offensive Articles, we have Christian Newswire’s director - for all the world to read - that American Idol is struggling with ratings because Ellen DeGeneres is gay.

According to director Gary McCullough: “I am confident that the producers of American Idol will be shocked when their market share has cratered, and will in all honesty find a dozen other reasons for the drop in ratings. After all, what successful television producer could have a clue what wholesomeness is as long as they see promoting homosexuality as a virtue?”

In the article, McCullough writes “[Ellen] DeGeneres’ ‘Yes, I have loved a woman,’ comment from the , was the most obvious lesbian-one-liner, but it wasn’t the only one, and it is hurting the show’s ratings.”

Furious yet? Just wait - it actually gets worse!

What is Google TV? Straight from Google

Earlier this morning at the Google I/O event, a major portion was dedicated to the announcement of Google TV. Google TV is basically a software layer that lets you find content to watch on your television. It’s build on , Chrome, and Flash, and lets you control things like live TV, as well as giving you the full power of the Internet. You can throw TV into a picture-in-picture box to fire up a web browser, search YouTube, pull up Hulu, or really just about anything else that you can do in a browser. Google Search sits on top of everything, and can be pulled up at any time. When you do a search, it will pull results from the web, as well as from TV listings, giving you the ability to find whatever you want to watch. If you like a show, channel, or search, you can save that as a bookmark for easy access later.

The interesting thing here is the integration with Android. Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are mandatory in the Google TV hardware, which will be built by partners. That means that you can use an Android handheld device, pull up a website, and just beam it right over to Google TV. You can also perform a voice search on the device, and have that search carried out on the TV. Eliminating the frustrating tap-typing that we are all so tired of when it comes to searching on a big screen like a television? That is fairly awesome. Oh, and since Google TV runs Android, that also means that it runs apps as well. You get complete access to the Android market.

Take a look at the video above for a simple explanation of what Google TV is all about. You can expect to see devices shipping, like a Logitech set-top box, that will give you Google TV capabilities, later this year in the fall.

VIDEO: Jon Stewart’s Message to FOX News

The ongoing war between Bernie Goldberg, FOX News contributor and frequent guest on O’Reilly Factor, and Jon Stewart, late-night Comedy Central variety show host, just got hilarious…though there’s probably zero chance that FOX News will find it so. It all started, according to Stewart, when he told FOX News to “go [expletive deleted] themselves” on his April 19 installment of .

Goldberg fired back during one of his visits to O’Reilly (Papa Bear to Stephen Colbert fans), calling a “funnyman” who only wants to crack jokes before an audience. “But if, clearly, you want to be a social commentator…you better find some guts,” Goldberg addressed his comments directly to Stewart.

On his April 20 show, Stewart had plenty to say in response to Bernie Goldberg - and by extension, everyone at FOX News.

Domino’s Answers Jersey Shore’s Snooki

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Prime Time, Reality, Cable, MTV,

Jersey Shore - SnookiDomino’s Pizza isn’t the first sponsor to back out of supporting MTV’s controversial …but they are the first sponsor to release direct statements regarding one of the reality show’s cast members. After Nicole (“Snooki”) Polizzi waxed poetic about their decision (“F—- you! If you don’t want to watch, don’t watch. Just shut the hell up!), Domino’s delivered a few far more eloquent zingers of their own.

“We have no issue with MTV or the programming it airs,” a spokesperson stated. “Just like viewers have a choice of what they want to watch, advertisers have a choice on what shows they want to advertise.” Domino’s Pizza has no problems with MTV, but that doesn’t mean they care for the Shore’s Snooki. “There’s no need to get into a war with this young girl, because tick tock, her fifteen minutes are almost up.”

Jersey Shore has been dubbed as “wildly offensive” by the New Jersey Italian American Legislative Caucus. The reality series has recently been eliciting a lot of negative press for the way the show’s Italian-American cast behaves and speaks. MTV maintains that the cable network does not intend to stereotype or offend in any way.

Bleeding Edge TV 323: A look at Verizon FiOS TV with Twitter and Facebook integration

We’ve been fans of the Internet service for about two-and-a-half years now, and as soon as FiOS TV was available for Gear Live HQ, we were first in our area to subscribe to that service as well. Aside from the uncompressed signal that they send through, the service has some features that make it truly unique, like the integration of Facebook and Twitter right on the DVR. I had some of my friends over to show off FiOS TV, and we had the cameras going to capture it all. Hit play for a look at what went down. If you’re curious about Verizon FiOS, be sure to hit up the Facts on FiOS site for details.

A big thank you to Verizon for helping make the party happen!
