NTT DoCoMo New Handsets
Posted by Sheila Franklin Categories: Smartphones, Corporate News, Handhelds,

NTT DoCoMo have announced 22, count ‘em, 22 new handsets in four series. The STYLE series is their fashion statement, while the PRIMEs are full feature phones that concentrate on multimedia. The SMART series are targeted at professionals while the PROs are for those who like cutting edge (and higher prices) and includes the BlackBerry Bold. Release times begin this month and will continue through March 2009. We are thinking that unless you just have to have a banana colored cellie, a selection of 4 or five would have been sufficient.

Newsarma is reporting that DC will be canceling the Bat-titles: “Robin,” “Nightwing,” and “Birds of Prey” come this February. With the cancellation of “Robin” and “Nightwing,” it gives more evidence that Dick Grayson or Tim Drake will become Batman. I was surprised by the cancellation of “Birds of Prey.” I thought that was a popular book. I guess not.
If Robin or Nightwing becomes Batman, it just seems like an old hat. Been there done that. We’ll see how they pull this off.

Since it began, Geoff John’s “Justice Society of America” has not been as good as his previous run on the “JSA” title. “Justice Society of America” has been good, but not great. Still Justice Society has been a lot better than some of the crap that’s been out there from the big two companies.
One of the reasons I think it hasn’t been as good is because the pace has been a lot slower. Geoff has done a lot of explaining of who all of these characters are. I enjoy character development and feel it is important to telling a good story. However, this is a superhero comic book. You need some action. During the “One World, Under Gog” story arc that is currently unfolding, I believe John’s has “kicked it up a notch” to quote Emeril Lagasse.

If you’ve graduated beyond elementary math, this wall lamp created by Mingyu Jeung will be happy to turn on for you after you solve a randomly generated equation. If math really isn’t your thing – or you run out of fingers to count on – the integrated chalkboard may be your new best friend (though I wonder how you would see what you were writing…). As far as we can tell, problems appear to be of the simple add/subtract/multiply/divide variety, but a clever prankster would throw in a random calculus problem just to keep you on your toes.

BlackBerry Bold available for free with plan
Posted by Patrick Phelps Categories: Smartphones, Handhelds, Hot Deals,
The new BlackBerry Bold, which was released yesterday, is suddenly coming to Wal-Mart at an amazing price: FREE.
Billed as the BlackBerry Bold Unlimited, the catch to this seemingly great deal is that you have to sign on with a two-year contract, at least a 1350 minute talk plan and unlimited text messaging, on top of the required BlackBerry data plan – not a bad deal if you talk and text that much anyway. The deal is through LetsTalk, if you’d like to skip the middleman and order direct from them.
