Withings WS-30 Wi-Fi scale arrives for $130, adds Bluetooth
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Smart Home, Wireless / WiFi,
Withings has announced the availability of its new WS-30 Wi-Fi scale in the US. The new scale can be set up using just your smartphone over Bluetooth, rather than requiring you to tether it to a PC or Mac whenever you want to make changes. As would be expected, the Wi-Fi scale can send your weight, BMI, and body fat % data to a ton of different services of your choosing, making it easy to keep on top of those metrics and have them tracked over time. The scale is great for the whole family, as it can recognize up to eight different users. You can order the Withings WS-30 now for $130.

Amazon Prime now available for $7.99 per month
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Hot Deals, Internet,
Amazon Prime is the best deal in tech, and now Amazon aims to make it's two-day shipping, Kindle Lending Library, and instant movie and television streaming service a bit more accessible with an alternate price structure. Amazon customers now have the option of paying $7.99 per month for a Prime membership, which some may find more palatable compared to the yearly $79 lump sum pricing. Obviously, paying for a year up front offers a 20% savings, but we're sure many will opt for the monthly payment interval. Some are calling this a direct shot at Netflix and Hulu, each of which also offer instant streaming of television and movies, however, both lack any sort of shipping option (or retail store,) or monthly ebook lending library.

Among the smaller tablets of the world like the iPad mini, Kindle Fire HD, and Nexus 7, Microsoft's platform is nowhere to be found. Facebook for iOS updated to version 4.1, brings new camera and chat features
Posted by Jason Diaz Categories: Social Networking, App Updates, Free Apps,
Facebook, the biggest social site, has now updated their native iOS app. Version 4.1 includes a variety of features, such as the ability to share multiple photos, a new swipe feature to message friends from anywhere within the app, image filteres (similar to Facebook-owned Instagram,) and the gift giving functionality. One feature that has finally been restored is the ability to make albums.
Sadly, for many who updated, it has not been without some setbacks as users, myself included, are encountering sign-in errors and news feeds being blank. Users have voiced their complaints to Facebook and, ironically, taken it to Twitter to make themselves heard. Gear Live advises waiting to update until Facebook submits another version to fix the issues that are currently affecting users.

The iPod Touch from Apple comes with various storage capacities. An 8GB iPod Touch will store 1750 songs, 10,000 photos or 10 hours of videos. A 32GB iPod will store 7000 songs, 40,000 photos or 40 hours of video. A 64GB iPod Touch will store 14,000 songs, 90,000 photos or 80 hours of video. These storage details are obviously based on if you were to completely fill your iPod with just music, or just videos, etc. The 5th generation iPod Touch is available with either 32GB or 64GB storage capacity, and these storage details still apply.
