Robert Pattinson’s Alter Ego Battle

Robert Pattinson admits his Twilight character would not approve of his Bel Ami alter-ego.
The Hollywood heartthrob is famed for playing Edward Cullen in the vampire franchise and he admits his character in his latest film, Georges Duroy, couldn't be more different from one-woman man Edward.
"I guess there's something quite fun about Bel Ami, going from Edward to playing some guy who pretty much abuses women to get money out of them. Edward so wouldn't approve - and I thought that was a funny irony. But the story, independently, is great, so I only thought about the irony afterwards."
Robert also says George has no redeeming features about him as he doesn't care who he hurts: "He just doesn't have a conscience. He's content to do nothing and thinks everything should just be given to him. But if someone slights him, or directs any insult at him, the most overwhelming energy grabs him and he turns into the absolute devil. It's like in Giant, when James Dean builds the entire empire to say, 'F**k you.' He's exactly like that but without any redeeming characteristics. The whole story is these people trying to beat him down into remorse, and just as he's about to touch it, something good happens to him again."

Zooey Deschanel Unhappy With Supporting Offers

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Comedy, Casting, Celeb News,
Zooey Deschanel gets ''depressed'' when she is sent scripts where she is a supporting character.
The New Girl actress admits she rarely gets sent any projects or characters she can get excited about as a "comedienne" because she is often only sent parts as the lead actor's girlfriend.
"I really do feel that for a long time women didn't have the place in comedy that they should. I mean, when you get sent scripts and you see you're always playing someone's girlfriend when you want to be the central role, it's so depressing. As a comedienne, it felt so frustrating to always be setting up someone else's comedic moment."
However, the 32-year-old beauty thinks things began to change with the success of female-driven comedy Bridesmaids - starring Kristen Wiig and Maya Rudolph - because studio bosses understood there was an audience who weren't being catered to: "Bridesmaids success meant that a lot of networks realised people were interested in that kind of comedy. We already had our show in production, but it made the networks pay more attention."
Sylvester Stallone Wants Rambo 5

Sylvester Stallone is "dying" to make another Rambo movie.
The action star is desperate to reprise the role of Vietnam war veteran turned mercenary John Rambo for a fifth time and already has some plot ideas to incorporate.
"I'm dying to do another Rambo. He's in Arizona on the border. It will involve him going into Mexico. I don't think Rambo likes Mexicans."
However, Sylvester admitted there may then not be another film in the series. Asked if he would kill the character off, he told Macleans.ca, "Yes."
While the original Rambo movie, First Blood, was based on the novel by David Morrell, the endings differed and Sylvester admitted he changed it partly to open up the possibilities of turning the story into a franchise: "In the book, Rambo gets killed. I thought it was not the proper message. There had been close to 200,000 suicides by returning Vietnam vets. I said, 'Why don't we take him right to the edge without annihilating him?' Quentin Tarantino said, 'You're a coward, you should have killed him!' I said, 'Quentin, you're a lunatic. I want to do some sequels, brother.'"
Jonah Hill Praises ‘Perfect’ Channing Tatum

Jonah Hill thinks Channing Tatum was "perfect" for the role of Greg Jenko in 21 Jump Steet.
The 28-year-old actor - who co-wrote the script for new action comedy - explained the GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra star was the only person who would be "ballsy" enough to take on the part of the undercover police officer.
"We pictured it would be me and an action star. That was kind of the idea, we wanted someone who was known for action movies who was willing to play with that persona and be in a totally different kind of film. And Channing is the best person working in that field I think, and he was ballsy enough to take a leap of faith and do something different," he said.
Jonah admitted filming 21 Jump Street - which is based on the 80s TV show of the same name - often resulted in a number of impromptu scenes coming about as a consequence of the duo constantly "messing around" on set.

Christina Ricci Taught Herself Acting

Christina Ricci taught herself how to act.
The 32-year-old star - who landed her first major movie role at the age of 10 in Mermaids - had no formal training in the world of acting and had to teach herself at a young age how to get into character easily.
"People explained things to me in very simple ways when I was a child on set. Then as I got older I started understanding things in more complicated ways and starting creating my own mind games, methods and rules in my head."
However, the Bel Ami beauty now finds it hard to get out of character and often has to do something dramatic when she has finished filming to leave a role behind her: "Characters slowly leave you. You always try to do something to make it go faster. I usually dye my hair or cut it to get out of it. But it usually takes longer. It's like a break-up haircut. It doesn't really work."
Dev Patel Not Comfortable With Big Roles

Dev Patel doesn't feel comfortable playing the lead character in a large movie.
The Slumdog Millionaire star describes his time on M. Night Shyamalan's flop The Last Airbender "horrendous" and admits he prefers working as part of an ensemble in smaller movies such as his latest project The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.
"Working on something that big and trying to get heard as an actor is tricky. You feel so diluted and worthless. I would happily shape my career doing great low-budget indies like that. I'm not that hero-type dude, so I'm never going to be playing the handsome lead character," he said.
Dev feels like he is still growing up and says that is one of the reasons he was attracted to the character of Sonny in The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel: "That's another reason why Sonny is so related to me - this guy is growing a man. He has a saying, 'Everything will be alright in the end. But if it's not alright then it's not yet the end.'"
Sacha Baron Cohen Banned From Oscars?

Sacha Baron Cohen might be banned from walking the red carpet at the Academy Awards on Sunday.
The British comedian is believed to have planned to attend the glittering ceremony as General Aladeen - his character from forthcoming movie The Dictator - but studio bosses frown on stunts in front of the world's media and are considering reversing his invite, which he gained for his part in Martin Scorsese's Hugo.
The Academy is believed to have got in touch with Sacha's representatives to confirm whether or not he is planning to do the stunt, according to The Wrap. Sacha has a history of using his characters to create controversy - his alter-ego Bruno from the movie of the same name became well known for antics including storming the stage during a fashion show and landing on Eminem in a white jock strap during the 2009 MTV Movie Awards.
In 2000 his first major character Ali G offered British MP Neil Hamilton a cigarette allegedly containing cannabis, which he accepted and smoked. The Dictator - which also stars Megan Fox and Anna Faris - is due for release in May.
Paul Bettany Has No Movie Formula

Paul Bettany believes that making a good movie is about guess work.
The British actor - who has starred in films including A Beautiful Mind, The Secret Lives of Bees and Iron Man - believes there is no guaranteed way to make a successful film, and he admits many people were surprised at the success of his latest work Margin Call.
"I've never seen more shocked faces. Because nobody could quite believe it had come together so well. I thought it was bright and well-written, which is rare, and it was 17 days of filming so I just thought, 'This is a good punt.' It's just proof that you never know. People are always trying to work out the formula for making a movie that is well-regarded, but it's like looking at f**king tea leaves."
Paul stars alongside Demi Moore, Zachary Quinto and Kevin Spacey in the movie, and he admits it "changed" him because it showed him how professional a set could be: "This movie changed me in that it reminded me of all the reasons why I first became an actor. I can't make movies that I don't care about any more."
George Clooney Couldn’t Relate to Character

George Clooney couldn't relate to his character in The Descendants. The 50-year-old actor plays Matt King - a wealthy man who sets out with his two daughters to find the lover of his ailing wife - in the drama and though he had little in common with his alter ego, he doesn't think that is important.
George - who won Best Actor for his role in the movie at last weekend's Golden Globes - said, "This guy is really going through a phase in his life where he wants to do right by everyone, and I don't know that that would be part of my make-up. He's caught p in a strange place in his life and career. I enjoyed playing the character but I don't know that I can relate to him. But part of my job is to do what is asked of me in the script and not have to worry about whether it pertains to me or not. You don't have to actually shoot heroin to play a drug addict, you know."
He also admitted he fears repeating the same career choices over and over and would regard not varying his decisions as a professional "failure": "My biggest fear is doing the same things 10 years from now. That would be a failure. It's something you have to constantly reassess, and asking yourself what you are going to do next makes it a good long full journey."
Daniel Craig Has ‘No Desire’ to Escape Bond

Daniel Craig has "no desire" to "escape" James Bond. The British actor - who will portray the iconic British spy for the third time in Skyfall and is rumored to have signed up for an additional five movies - thinks if he signed up for anything radically different in between films, people would accuse him of trying to stop himself being typecast.
"I don't think, 'This will look good next to that...' If that's what you do, you're inhibiting yourself against instinct, which is just wrong. Of course I could [play a role like a child killer]. Whether I'd want to is another matter. I think it would smack slightly of, you know, 'Oh, he's only doing that to get away from Bond.' I've got no desire to escape the role. I love playing Bond - it's fantastic."
Despite his love of playing Bond, Daniel admits he almost quit the franchise when studio MGM ran into financial difficulties, causing delays to the next film in the series: "There was that long hiatus where Bond maybe wasn't happening. I'd got it into my head that if it went another two years on top of the two-year gap we'd already had, then they should probably find someone else. And I should think about getting on with things."
