Bruce Smith

Wow, am I feeling old.  On Saturday, the day before Super Bowl XLIII goes down between the Arizona Cardinals and Pittsburgh Steelers, the NFL introduced its latest paragons of the sport that will be headed to Canton, Ohio, home of the NFL Hall of Fame.  Bruce Smith, Rod Woodson, the late Derrick Thomas, Randall McDaniel, Buffalo Bills owner Ralph Wilson, and Bob Hayes are the latest NFL Hall of Famers.  The feeling old comment is because I saw Smith, Woodson, Thomas, and McDaniel in their rookie years!  That said, let me speak on some of these players.

Jake Delhomme We’re throwing in a little bit of everything following the long Thanksgiving weekend. The Detroit Lions and Seattle Seahawks provided turkeys of games as they got blown out by the Tennessee Titans and Dallas Cowboys Thanksgiving Thursday. Ryan Grant

Two key match ups this week when the Minnesota Vikings travel to take on the 6-3 Tampa Bay Buccaneers while the Chicago Bears visit the tundra to clash with the Green Bay Packers. Tampa Bay is one game shy of the division-leading Carolina Panthers who host the Detroit Lions - chalk up a win for Carolina. To keep pace, Tampa will need a win over Minnesota. By the end of the day, Carolina’s record should be 8-2 while a win over the Vikings will put the Bucs at 7-3. Local oddsmakers have already given the Panthers a 14-point edge over Detroit. Coming off a brutal heart-stopper over the Packers in Week 10, the Vikings will probably find out the hard way that the Bucs are no fluke. Bucs by 7.

Sometimes the NFL is called the “No Fun League” because of its conservative leadership. However, there was so much going on this past weekend that it was a fan’s delight - it’s great fun!  And the Minnesota Vikings’ Adrian Peterson leads the charge in the “National FUN League.”
