Paris Hilton Express Changes with Her Perfume
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Celebrities, Health & Beauty,
Paris Hilton expresses her "changes" in scent. The socialite's 15th fragrance, Dazzle, launches next month and she loves her perfume collection because she believes they reflect her personality.
"Creating a new fragrance or two each year has been a great way to express the changes I have gone through. Now I have a whole wardrobe of them to choose from, from light and beachy to mysterious and sexy," she said.
Paris - who has an additional 16 product lines - has generated $1.5 billion in sales with her fragrance collection, which is distributed by Parlux, but she admits she never expected it to be so successful: "What started out as just an interesting experiment became a real business very quickly. Every one of the scents I have done is still on the market somewhere. I will keep providing Parlux with new inspirations and will continue to visit our customers around the world."
Despite her busy schedule, Paris insists she is "very involved" with every aspect of creating her fragrances and particularly enjoys promoting her work.

Add Rihanna to the List of Celebrities With a Perfume Line

Rihanna's first perfume will reflect her strong personality. The "Only Girl (In The World)" singer's debut fragrance -- Reb'l Fleur -- will be befitting of her independent character and designers behind the fragrance say she has been more hands on than most in coming up with the perfect scent.
"This is not a shrinking violet kind of fragrance," said Kathleen Galvin, vice president of marketing and advertising at Parlux, which has developed the perfume with the star.
The title of the scent is a reference to a nickname Rihanna's grandmother gave her when she was growing up in Barbados, and she has also had it tattooed on her. Rihanna, 22, has long been known to mix different existing perfumes to create her own signature scent and said she wanted her own perfume to reflect the her roots in Barbados as well as her life in New York and Los Angeles.
She has described what she wanted to create as "like high heels with a short, flirty dress."

Fragrant Future for Queen Latifah
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Celebrities,
Queen Latifah‘s been a rapper, an actor, a CoverGirl spokeswoman and a Jenny Craig user. A fragrance creator was the natural next step.
By venturing into the world of perfume, the Oscar nominee joins the ranks of a million other celebrities before her. How will Queen by Queen Latifah differ from the rest? Well, the Parlux Fragrances scent will combine notes of notes of mandarin, jasmine, cognac, Moroccan coriander and Egyptian musk. (Based on the description, it might just make a nice wine as well.)
When asked why she delved into the aromatic industry, Latifah gave the typical crafted response. “Beauty really does start on the inside. It’s like a state of mind, a state of love, if you will. So I see a fragrance as just a natural expression of this state of love: Scent expresses a woman’s confidence and sensuality, it’s how she embraces her body, her mind and her strength,” she claimed. Blah, blah, blah. One day, I dare someone to say “Because I know what smells good, and it ain’t you.”
A 1.7 oz bottle of the fragrance will sell for $49 when it hits stores in August.
