Alanis Morissette Had Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Due to Fame

Alanis Morissette has Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) from the early part of her career.

The "Ironic" singer shot to fame when she was 20 with her hit album Jagged Little Pill - which was released in 1995 and has sold over 33 million copies worldwide - but she found the fame which came with it particularly overwhelming and she still sometimes struggles to cope.

"I still have PTSD from the Jagged Little Pill era. It was a profound violation. It felt like every millisecond I was attempting to set a boundary and say no and people were breaking into my hotel rooms and going through my suitcase and pulling my hair and jumping on my car. There was a period of time during the Jagged Little Pill era where I don't think I laughed for about two years. It was a survival mode, you know. It was an intense, constant, chronic over-stimulation and invasion of energetic and physical literal space."

Alanis Morissette is Prepared to Breastfeed For Six Years

Alanis Morissette is prepared to breastfeed her son until he is six.

The "You Outta Know" singer believes attachment parenting is important for 17-month-old Ever Imre's wellbeing and will continue to feed him from her breast until he decides to stop.

"I'll stop whenever he wants. I know some children who have weaned naturally at two years, some kids wean naturally a couple of years later; I mean, it's up to every child," she said on Good Morning America. In the western world, most children start to be weaned away from breast milk around six months after their birth, but those who follow attachment parenting believe letting their baby choose is best for their long-term emotional welfare.

Alanis - who is married to Mario "Souleye" Treadway - added she doesn't judge other people for not sharing her views on parenting: "I consider it appropriate, it is appropriate for that particular child and that particular family."

Dave Coulier Talks About Alanis Morissette’s Song

Thanks to Dave Coulier, one of music’s biggest mysteries has now been cleared up.

In an interview with the Calgary Herald, the Full House star addressed an ongoing rumor about his past relationship Alanis Morissette.

While it’s long been believed that Coulier was the subject of the angry song “You Oughta Know,” many (like me) found it hard to imagine that he could inspire such hatred. Apparently, Dave was surprised as well.

Alanis Morissette’s New Album and New Body

Earlier this week, singer Alanis Morissette hit the Today show stage to promote her latest album, Flavors of Entanglement. (You can see a clip from the concert after the jump.) And while the fans should have been focusing on her new single (“Underneath”), they couldn’t help but notice the 33-year-old’s new body.

Even though it was hard denying Morissette had seen better days, it wasn’t her obvious weight gain that bothered me. (Sadly, she’s probably just a Size 4 now.) I just wanted to know where her stylist was! Yes, we know her ex is now newly engaged...but that was no reason for her to dress so poorly. The ill-fitting pants or unflattering vest just weren’t necessary.

C’mon, Alanis. Performers like Jordin Sparks have already proven you can be larger and beautiful too!

Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds Engaged

This is really turning out to be a busy month for Scarlett Johansson.  Not only will she be debuting her first album on May 20th, she’s now sporting a new sparkly ring.

People magazine reports the 23-year-old recently became engaged to Definitely, Maybe‘s Ryan Reynolds, her boyfriend of one year.  Johansson’s rep said the proposal actually happened a while ago, though no specific details were disclosed.

This will be the first marriage for both actors.  In the past, Scarlett has been linked to Josh Hartnett, her co-star in The Black Dahlia, and Chapter 27‘s Jared Leto.  This will not be the first engagement for Reynolds though.  The 31-year-old was previously set to marry singer Alanis Morissette.  In fact, the two officially broke up shortly before he started dating Johansson.

No wedding date for the happy couple has yet been announced.
