Nicole Scherzinger, Jessie J Back Britney for X Factor

Nicole ScherzingerNicole Scherzinger has backed Britney Spears for the X Factor job.

The pop princess has been tipped as one of the two new judges on the panel of the reality TV show, replacing Nicole and Paula Abdul, and the former Pussycat Doll has given Britney her support.

"Britney is so bubbly and warm and everyone loves her anyway, so she just has to be herself. I think that it's something that we can't deny, but there's something about Britney that we...are always rooting for her and behind her no matter what," she told E! News.

British singer Jessie J also believes Britney would be a great judge, because she has been through it all before: "I think it's really important to have people who have lived it. They can understand what these artists who are auditioning go through and really know how it feels to have rejection and have success. And I think that she's someone who's shown how to have a career with longevity. I think it's definitely something that the show [needs]."

Simon CowellX Factor boss Simon Cowell has thanked judges Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul and host Steve Jones after they were axed from the show.

''I want to say a massive thank you to Paula, Nicole and Steve for being part of The X Factor last year. We had a lot of fun making the show together and importantly, we found some real talent and stars. 'You do develop friendships with the people you work with and Paula, in particular, is a very close friend and I expect to be working with her on another project in the near future. 'I'm sure all three are going to have massive success in what they do next, but now is the time to thank them all for everything they did last year," Cowell said in a statement.

Following Simon's statement, Nicole took to her Twitter account to confirm she will not be returning to the US version of the show and she now plans to create ''great music'' in 2012: ''I wanted to let you know directly from me that it's true I won't be returning to The X Factor. American Idol 10 panel

Arguably, the Top 3 vote is the most intense of American Idol. The trio of singers is on the cusp of their goal, inches away from being a contender in the show’s big finale. The biggest vote of the season was recorded after the Wednesday performance round: 95 million.

But some of the voters would be disappointed, because one of the Top 3 would be sent home before Thursday came to a close. The only question was… which?

“Mariah Carey would be an amazing addition to the US show,” Simon Cowell told reporters recently when discussing his tateside version of The X Factor. “And she’s exactly the right caliber of star that we want for the show.”

Cowell has been hoping to bring Cheryl Cole, a judge on the British version of the show, to his new X Factor … but US viewers probably won’t recognize her. “I’ve said I’d love Cheryl [Cole] out there, but whether it will happen, who knows?” Cowell told reporters.

If Carey were to join the show, she would be judging alongside Simon Cowell and Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger.
