Warning: the following contains *spoiler* results for this week’s WWE Smackdown on The CW, airing Friday night at 8 p.m. ET.

In this week’s Smackdown dark match, Dave Taylor and Drew McIntyre (who?) lost to none other than … The Nasty Boys??? Reports are that they looked pretty good in the match. Gossip sites are also saying that The Nasty Boys worked really stiff in the match and also had a holier-than-thou attitude backstage, so it looks like they may be in hot water already. It’ll be interesting to see if they get a chance to make a comeback or if they’ll get crapped on like The Legion of Doom did a few years back.

Kane beat Big Daddy V by disqualification. I liked watching Big Daddy wrestle at Survivor Series. I don’t know why, but he appealed to me much more as an unstoppable beast than a pajama-wearing love machine. Call me crazy, but I wouldn’t mind seeing creative design Kane a new mask and write a reason for him to wear it - another facial disfigurement, perhaps? I think Kane with a mask was a much more fearable character than he is now. It’s funny considering that I was absolutely craving the day when they’d take it off.

Torrie Wilson defeated Victoria in what I’m sure was a snoozer. When you have this little “talent exchange” with ECW and don’t include Kelly Kelly in every women’s segment you have - that is a problem!

Good ol’ Fit Finlay and Hornswoggle beat Mark Henry in a handicap match. What’s up with Henry? He did the job last week to Batista (and took a chair beating on top of it) and this week he is taking a loss from an old guy and a little person? I can understand Carlito getting dumped on, but as far as I know, Mark Henry hasn’t done anything wrong. Well, except being a complete bore in every segment and match he’s in. The Great Khali lumbered out to the ring post-match and tried to mix it up with the Irish duo. Khali is a ratings killer.

I can’t believe Chuck Palumbo is still around and working that over-played biker gimmick. Luckily, they saved all the motorcycles and ring gear from The Undertaker’s biker days. Nothing wrong with hand-me-downs. Thankfully, Chuck lost his match to Jamie Noble, a guy who was working X-Division-like matches in the last days of WCW when the X-Division was nothing but a twinkle in Jeff Jarrett’s eye.

WWE Tag Team Champions (MTV’s Tough Enough winner) John Morrison and (MTV’s The Real World cast member) The Miz beat The Major Bros. As much as I hate to admit it, there definitely is some talent in The Miz somewhere. His match with CM Punk and Morrison at SS was one hell of a match. And the top-rope hurricarana into the power bomb by Miz was truly an awesome spot. I might not mind seeing the belt put on him and seeing how fans react. As if there is any question.

JBL presented MVP with a diamond ring. Eh - I’m sort of almost over the whole MVP thing. Not that I was really all about it to begin with. Now that Matt Hardy is out for three months, my interest in the U.S. Title race has really cooled off. Tonight, MVP pins Rey Rey. It may have been a good match, but I also might go grab a soda during it.

In a totally shocking moment, Batista put an entire arena full of people to sleep with an interview. You will have to see it to believe - people passed out from boredom all over the place. In tonight’s “Oh no, they didn’t” moment - it was revealed that Edge returned at SS as part of a plan devised by Vickie Guerrero - apparently they are partners of sorts. In fact, at one point in the night they were even shown … [shudder] … making out. Somewhere, Eddie is rolling over in his grave. I’m not sure if this is in poor taste or not. The jury is still out. Another shocker came when The Undertaker ended the show by ambushing a Vickie in-ring segment and tombstone pile-driving her. I just can’t imagine frumpy Vickie Guerrero taking a tombstone. Edge vs. Batista is announced for next week.

Thank Alf that Edge is back on Smackdown to save us from “The Animal.” Forget SAVE_US.222, I’m all about SAVE_US.EDGE. Until next week … stay tuned!
