24 Lines Up Cast for Season 8

The Big Apple won’t be the only new thing 24 fans see next year. In addition to setting Season 8 in New York (most of the show will actually be filmed in LA), the producers will be spicing up the line-up with a list of new cast members.
Katee Sackhoff: The Battlestar Galactica star has just been cast to play Dana Walsh, data analyst in CTU’s NYC branch. Walsh - who’s romantically involved with agent Davis Cole (see below) - also comes with a secret. (Natch.)

Freddie Prinze Jr.: The Scooby-Doo actor will be the lucky object of Sackhoff’s affections. The CTU Field Ops runner is also a former marine with aspirations to be just like Bauer. (Don’t those guys always die?)
Chris Diamantopoulos: The Starter Wife hunk will join the series as Rob Weiss, President Taylor’s new Chief of Staff. The “argumentative and tough” character will succeed Ethan Kanin, the POTUS’ former right-hand man.
Jennifer Westfeldt: The Notes from the Underbelly actress will be taking notes as Meredith Reed, an “ambitious journalist” with a connection to Arman Hashemi. That Middle Eastern leader - who’ll be played by the previously announced Anil Kapoor - will become the target of an assassination attempt while in NYC for a peacekeeping mission.
John Boyd: The Notorious Bettie Page actor will be the latest person to probably annoy Chloe. Boyd has been cast as Jonah Schwartz, a systems analyst at CTU.
Mykelti Williamson: As Brian Hastings, Williamson will in charge of more than just shrimp. The Forrest Gump star will play the MBA-schooled head of CTU’s New York division.
