Eminem Demands $2 Million for Super Bowl Gig

EminemEminem reportedly refused to perform at a Super Bowl party unless he was paid $2 million.

The "Monster" rapper is said to have been approached to play a concert at the NFL Owners Party during Super Bowl week in 2014. According to TMZ, the offer was for Eminem to perform a set of his greatest hits for 1,500 guests following a lavish dinner, but organizers were forced to find a replacement act after the rapper demanded the hefty fee.

Reps for the event were also eyeing a performance from Kanye West only to find that his fee was also out of budget. "[For Kanye] it was $1 million, plus a lot of other perks," a source revealed.

As a last resort organizers have reportedly snapped up "Tight Rope" singer Janelle Monae who will perform for a more reasonable $150,000.

Justin Timberlake Set for Live Return

Justin TimberlakeJustin Timberlake is to make his live return with at a pre-Super Bowl party.

The 31-year-old star - who hasn't released a record since 2006's Future Sex/Love Sounds - made a sudden chart reappearance earlier this month with "Suit & Tie," a collaboration with Jay-Z, and is now set to perform at the DTV Superfan Stadium in New Orleans for DIRECTV Super Saturday Night show on February 2, an invite-only event which will benefit Shriners Hospitals for Children. The concert will mark Justin's first public performance in five years.

In an open letter to his fans, Justin wrote, "So, here goes: This year is an exciting one for me. As you probably have heard through the 'grapevine,' I'm gearing up for a big 2013.  Back in June of last year, I quietly started working on what is now, my next journey with that thing I love called MUSIC. The inspiration for this really came out of the blue and to be honest, I didn't expect anything out of it. I just went into the studio and started playing around with some sounds and songs. It was probably the best time I've had in my career... Just creating with no rules and/or end goal in mind and really enjoying the process."

Acura, Cadillac, Honda, and Volkswagen Super Bowl commercial sneak peeks

Posted by Andrey Malskiy Categories: Transportation, Videos,

It’s that time of the year where we can freely get down on junk food, trash talk, and look forward to the commercials just as much as the big game. We're talking about the Super Bowl (oh, and don't forget to enter our Big Game Giveaway!) Each year millions upon millions are dumped on commercials for mere marketing purposes.

Without a doubt, Volkswagen had one of the most successful commercials last year (see video after the jump to jog your memory) and is aiming to repeat its success again this year staying with the Star Wars theme. However, Volkswagen is not the only one fighting for airtime during the big game. Honda, Acura, and Cadillac have aired their Super Bowl commercials early this year and I want to focus your attention on the creativity of the ads.

Manufacturers know that millions will be watching the game on the 5th, and one would think that they would put effort into creating an entertaining commercial. Well one would think, but that’s not always the case. Let’s take a look at the Cadillac ATS spot, above.

NFL fans sue the NFL, Dallas Cowboys, and Cowboy’s owner Jerry Jones

Jerry Jones and the NFL are being sued by displaced Super Bowl ticketholdersNFL fans, particularly what I would think are Pittsburgh Steelers and Green Bay Packers fans that were jilted out of their seats at Super Bowl XLV are now suing the NFL, Dallas Cowboys, and Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. The beef is because about 400 seats were not installed, inspected, and approved before the big game despite knowing well in advance that this was the case. The NFL has offered paying $2400 and offering tickets to next year's Super Bowl. However, what if their team doesn't make it back? Another option has been offered, but what it comes down to are fans not being able to be in the moment supporting their team at the pinnacle of NFL status. I don't blame these people one bit.
