It's summertime, and we've got a few items we're giving away to bring the fun to a whole new level. Courtesy of AT&T here in Seattle, we've got a Jawbone mini Jambox, Jawbone UP24, and a Bodyguardz tempered glass protective cover for the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s. Here's a little more on each item and why we think they're perfect for this Summer Bundle Giveaway:
- Jawbone mini Jambox: Okay, for real, who doesn't wanna have music with them when by the pool or at the beach? A lot of us have a seemingly unlimited amount of music accessible by our smartphones and tablets, and the mini Jambox allows you to stream it over Bluetooth. At the next family BBQ, you'll be the star of the show.
- Jawbone UP24: Fitness wearables are all the rage these days, and if you like tracking your stats or are looking for a motivational tool, then it's easy to see why. With the UP24, you can monitor your fitness throughout the day, and even track your calories and water intake. At night, it'll even keep track of how well you are sleeping, which is probably not well if you're out camping in a tent. The device connects to your smartphone or tablet using Bluetooth LE, so the battery lasts a full week, and there's no plugging anything in to sync.
- Bodyguardz Screenguardz Pure: I always thought it was kind of silly for people to protect their smartphone screens with a thin plastic film. The Screenguardz Pure is a super-thin piece of tempered glass that can actually take a real beating, and exceeds the hardness of steel. That's protection.

You probably know by now that we're big fans of Jawbone and the Jambox speaker. Previously, you had a few color combinations to choose from, but couldn't really make it your own. That's all set to change though, as the company is set to begin allowing customers to choose between 9 different cap colors and 13 different colors for the speaker grill. There won't be any additional charge for the color remixing, so the Jambox will continue to sell for $199. Do note that the Big Jambox doesn't apply, and will remain available in its three color choices. With all that out of the way, who's down for a little gold and orange?
We give you our review of the Jawbone JAMBOX in this episode. The JAMBOX is a wireless Bluetooth speaker that you can use with smartphones, tablets, and anything else that can stream audio or phone calls over Bluetooth. It also has an aux in, so that you can use it with non-Bluetooth devices as well. It's light and portable too! Take a look in this episode. If you wanna get one for yourself, the JAMBOX typically sells for $199, but you can get it on Amazon for $162.
In this episode we give you a look at the Jawbone JAMBOX. The Jambox is a Bluetooth loudspeaker that can connect to any Bluetooth-enabled device like a smartphone, PC, Mac, or tablet. Once paired, the JAMBOX can then function as your speaker for audio, as well as hands-free phone calls. It's small, light, compact, and stylish - but the best feature of the JAMBOX is that it offers great sound. It's available in multiple colors and designs, including a model that helps Charity: Water. We open up the Jambox and give you a look at it in this episode! You can pick up the Jawbone JAMBOX for 28% off.
We're big fans of Jawbone products at Gear Live, so we were happy to catch up with Travis Bogard from Jawbone at CES 2012. We chat with Travis about the Jawbone Era and Icon Bluetooth headsets, the Jawbone Jambox Bluetooth loudspeaker, including a couple of limited edition models and how they're helping our Charity Water, and we get an update on the Jawbone Up fitness wristband.
Big thank you to GoToMeeting and JackThreads for sponsoring the show - be sure to check them out! GoToMeeting provides rich, super-simple collaborative cirtual meetings. As for JackThreads, we've got exclusive invite codes that give you $5 to use towards anything you'd like on the site.
2011 will come to an end in just a few short hours, and we are just in time with our annual top 10 list of the most-watched Gear Live video episodes. Over the past year, as expected, there was a bunch of Apple gear that made the list, but the HTC Thunderbolt gets two of the top spots, as does the Motorola Xoom.
Apple is set to discount some of its most popular products for Black Friday 2011. No word yet on if the stores are opening early, but you can get all the deals online as well as in-store, which is nice. Discounts on items like the iPad 2, iMac, MacBook Air, and iPod touch are just the tip of the iceberg, as Apple is also discounting a bunch of third-party accessories, including the Jawbone Up. We've got the best of the sale listed after the break, along with links to take you directly to the products!
According to Jawbone, LiveAudio "enables a spatial listening experience previously only available through headphones for binaural recordings." It's a processing feature that applies crosstalk cancellation features to produce better and deeper imaging, letting artists better create emotional connections with their audience, the company says.
In reality, LiveAudio is a processing feature that seems to boost the high end of the Jambox. Since higher frequencies are easier to locate directionally than lower frequencies (bass), this boost can give the impression of better spatial imaging, especially when used with close walls on either side to reflect the noise. LiveAudio won't necessarily improve your listening experience, but depending on the music you play and the dimensions of the room where you listen to it, it could offer a chance you might find preferable.
