Queen Elizabeth Hospitalized

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Breaking News,

Queen ElizabethQueen Elizabeth has been admitted to the hospital. The 86-year-old British monarch is being treated at a London medical facility for gastroenteritis.

The royal was admitted to King Edward VII hospital today after falling ill on Friday night. "She was not taken into the hospital immediately after feeling the symptoms. This is simply to enable doctors to better assess her," a spokesperson for the palace said.

The queen is only expected to remain under medical supervision until Tuesday, but all her official engagements this week, including her trip to Rome, will be either cancelled or postponed as she recovers from the nasty stomach bug.

The royal, who reportedly has had no visitors from her family yet, was last hospitalized for a minor knee operation almost a decade ago, but her husband Prince Philip was rushed to hospital last August as a "precautionary measure" when he fell ill after spending hours on a ceremonial barge in rain and a cold wind as part of a flotilla of 1,000 vessels on the River Thames to mark her landmark Diamond Jubilee.

Royal Wedding Photos: Guests Arrive

The red banners have been draped over the balcony at Buckingham Palace. The trees have been taken inside Westminster Abbey for Kate Middleton's fairy-tale walk down the aisle. The red carpet has been rolled out. And the guests are just starting to arrive at Westminster Abbey to watch the royal wedding.

Wedding gossip tells us that the very first hymn to be played at the nuptials was the very last hymn played at the memorial service for Princess Diana. Crowds have been gathering around Westminster and Buckingham in London for days, hoping to catch a glimpse of the popular royal couple being married today. William is Diana's oldest son, and very beloved to the English people since he was born. William and brother Prince Harry greeted gathering crowds the night before the wedding (though rumor says that Harry still hadn't finished his best man speech at the time!).

Royal Wedding: Royal Titles Revealed

Prince William, Princess Catherine

Just two hours before Kate Middleton was scheduled to walk down the aisle at Westminster Abbey for the royal wedding, Queen Elizabeth II bequeathed her and grandson Prince William with their new titles. It is traditional for royal princes to receive a Dukedom upon marriage. There was much speculation that William would not accept the duchy, even one report that said he did in fact turn it down, but all gossip was dispelled when the announcement was made official. Prince WIilliam is now also the Duke of Cambridge. This means Kate Middleton's title, upon marriage, will become Princess Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge. Not bad!

Royal Wedding: Three Receptions for Royal Couple

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Engagements, Weddings, Parties, Rumors,

Prince William, Kate MiddletonPrince William bride Kate Middleton aren’t your ordinary engaged couple, so they can’t be expected to celebrate their royal wedding in a typical way. Instead of the usual wedding reception, the couple will enjoy three separate after parties when they exchange vows on April 29.

First, the newlyweds will be whisked away (via carriage) to Buckingham Palace to enjoy a luncheon with 600 of their wedding guests. It will take 19 of the palace’s 775 rooms to hold all the invitees to the lavish affair. Buckingham is one of London's most famed attractions, and the sometime home to Queen Elizabeth.

Proud papa Prince Charles will host a dinner party, scheduled later in the day, for a cozy group of 300. And the after after after party will be an intimate affair attended by 100 people, a party so exclusive we don’t even know where it’s being held.

England’s Princes Gain Some Royal Clout

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Child Stars,

Princes William and Harry

of England has given her two famous grandsons something two young men can really appreciate: their own royal households.

For those of you without noble blood, the term “household” doesn’t necessarily refer to a place of residence but to a full-time staff. Between the two of them, the royal boys will share three main staff members who have their own small team of supporters. The job? To look after the princes’ military, public and charitable activities. St. James’s Palace will hold the household.

But the gifts don’t end there. To commemorate this newfound bit of prestige, each prince now has his own personal cypher. Think of it as a royal brand, a symbol to express their standing. Prince William’s cypher is the letter W in red, the same color as the cyphers belonging to his father and grandmother, with a coronet on top. Prince Harry’s cypher is blue, the same color as the one which once belonged to Princess Diana, featuring the letter H.

They’ve got logos, crowns and now their own personal staffers. It looks like the boy princes have finally become royal men.
