Will the Real Will Ferrell Please Start Tweeting?

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Movies, Rumors,

Description“There are at least four fake pages, none of which are actually him.” With these words, Ferrell’s publicist put a halt to the rumors that the comedian is behind several tongue-in-cheek jabs recently aimed at Paramount through Twitter, the popular micro-blogging site.

Ever since the studio , certain gems such as “To all who are upset about us not green lighting Anchorman 2, we at Paramount say screw you! We have more reboots to fund instead!” and “To all writers looking to pitch any original movie ideas to us, please submit them to the nearest garbage can in your vicinity,” have surfaced on Twitter. But the rumors that Will Ferrell created them are, we’re told, not true.

According to Ferrell publicist Matt Laboy, “Will Ferrell himself does not have a page, not does he have anything to do with this Paramount page in any way, shape or form.” According to an interview with Ferrell conducted last year, the actor was scared away from Twitter when fans criticized his Tweets for not being funny enough. If Will Ferrell had created any Tweets to sucker-punch Paramount, he probably would have done it as George W. Bush.

Quote of the Day: Miley Cyrus Bashes the Internet

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Movies, Music, Television,

Miley Cyrus

“I just think it’s kind of lame. I feel like I hang out with my friends and they’re so busy taking pictures of what they’re doing and putting them on that they’re not really enjoying what they’re doing. You’re going to look back and have a million pictures, but you’re not going to be in any of them. Because you’re not having fun, you’re too busy clicking away. So I think just enjoy the moment you’re in, and stop telling people about it. Just enjoy it… I’m telling kids, don’t go on the internet, it’s dangerous, it’s not fun, it wastes your life, and you should be outside playing sports or something.”

-Former Twitter user Miley Cyrus explaining why her fans can no longer read her tweets. (As long as she spares us from her lame YouTube videos, I don’t care what she says about the internet.)

Internet Addict Russell Brand

Russell Brand, recovering internet addictAfter having beaten his polygamy tendencies, comedian Russell Brand is now recovering over his obsession with Googling himself.

The Get Him to The Greek actor, who admits he has an addictive personality and has previously beaten heroin addiction, said he eventually gave up typing his name into the internet, as he only saw negative things written about himself.

“It’s the most unrewarding, pointless activity, Googling yourself. I’m doing a lot better. It’s like picking a scab. I have gone a few weeks without looking at it and it divorces you from the slurry of casual vindictiveness.”

He also admitted he toned down his performance as host of this year’s MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs), after his appearance last year - during which he referred to then-US president George W. Bush as a “retarded cowboy fella” - caused such an uproar.

“Last year at the VMAs there were death threats, so obviously this year it was deliberately designed not to cause anyone any bother, but be funny and confident. There was a very deliberate removal of self-destruction. I didn’t take the risks I’ve taken in the past.”

Edward Norton Not Big on Social Networking

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Movies, Charity,

Edward Norton thinks social networking sites are like “torture.” Unlike many other celebrities, the Leaves of Grass actor has never written an internet blog because he hates the idea of people cyber stalking him.

“I haven’t personally really engaged in a lot of this new kind of social networking stuff like Twitter or Facebook or MySpace,” the 40-year-old star explained. “I mean, the notion of people following what I am doing every day is like torture for me. It’s absolutely the last thing that I’m looking for. It seems to me to be really just about social chatter.”

Despite his web worries, Edward agreed to sign up on Twitter to help raise money for his favorite charity, the Maasai Wilderness Conservation Trust.

“It’s a good example of a way that you can turn that platform into something where you actually can accomplish something good,” he added to Parade magazine. “It’s my first attempt. We’re putting our running training log on Twitter. You can see can see pictures too on the site there. The trust conserves the wildlife and culture of the Maasai tribe of Kenya, Africa.”

Miley Cyrus Too Busy for Love

Miley Cyrus

She may spend a lot of time on her various Internet accounts, but fans shouldn’t read too hard into what writes.

“I’m the queen of corny quotes. I Google love quotes, happy quotes, sad quotes, I just like quotes. I don’t want to write, ‘I’m eating a cookie.’ I think that could be used for so much more,” the 16-year-old said.

Although recent tweets have sparked rumors that she has rekindled her romance with underwear model , the young star insists she is too busy focusing on her career to commit to a relationship. “There are a lot of people I’m supposedly dating these days. But I’m just kicking it right now, I don’t really have time for a huge relationship. There’s no dude,” she said.
