Where Are They Now?: Wil Wheaton

Wil WheatonWe remember him best as Wesley Crusher, the only teenager to become a series regular on a series (The Next Generation, in this particular case). He was the precocious young son, the ambitious ensign and the Starfleet student - and then, he was gone.

After making standout appearances as a child actor in films like Stand By Me and Toy Soldiers, Wil Wheaton disappeared from the radar…but he’s still an active part of the geek community. Though Wheaton has not been in a feature film since 2007 (Americanizing Shelley), he has made appearances on Leverage, and Eureka.

An icon for fans of sci-fi, gaming and all things Trek, Wheaton also has a recurring role on one of the Internet’s most popular, nerd-oriented TV shows.  He is well-known to online gamers as Fawkes, the leader of the Axis of Anarchy and the current villain on the popular Web series The Guild. ( revolves around a group of online gamers who play the World of Warcraft.) Wheaton has reprised his role to re-join the cast in Season 4 of the series, which is currently airing on iTunes and MSN.
