The Time Traveler’s Wife is a mild success at best at the box office (earning a quiet $18.6 million domestically, so far), but ABC is hoping home viewers will make the story a big success.

The novel will be adapted into a TV series for the network, which ABC contends was well in the works before the movie was released in theaters. Frankly, this seems more like the sort of thing NBC would try.
