Matt Stairs will never retire from baseball. The 42-year old not only has yet to resort to riding out his career as an American League designated hitter, he’s also found a home in San Diego and will see time as both a first baseman and an outfielder. As a Canadian, it was hard enough for Stairs to find his way into the majors, but it seems that it’s been even harder to take him out of them.

Is Jason Bay selling out? This is always a tough question to ask, and fans are often polarized by such a question. By not agreeing to any of the offers given to him by the Red Sox, he is testing the patience of the Boston fan base. Some would say that Bay is fully entitled to test the free agent market. He has earned the right to play where he wants and for as much money as he can get. Others would say that Bay has a good thing going in Boston. The fans love him, the team loves him, and he’s just plain good. Both arguments are correct. It just comes down to what Bay wants to do.

Adam Loewen’s Re-Rise to Baseball Stardom

Adam Loewen was supposed to be great. He was supposed to be an ace pitcher. Once touted as the best prospect with the Baltimore Orioles, Canadian-born Loewen’s career began like no other before him. He pitched for Team Canada at the 2006 World Baseball Classic, earning a win against Team USA before Canada was eliminated. Two months later, he began his Major League Baseball career. In his first four starts, he faced off against Randy Johnson, Tom Glavine, and Roy Halladay twice to become the first pitcher to face four Cy Young winners in the first four starts of his career. However, he went 0-2 as his team behind him could never seem to get the job done.
