MacBook Air available for 20% off at Best Buy right now

Best Buy has a tremendous sale going on today and tomorrow, selling all 2012 MacBook Air models for $200 off. Yep, the latest MacBook Air from Apple can be had for a 20% discount. Pretty insane, and better than any deal you would have found on Black Friday. The sale goes for both the 11-inch models, as well as the 13-inch units as well. This is definitely not one to miss, especially when compared against the Surface Pro, which will cost about $1,020 with Touch Cover keyboard. Here are the links:

Monster and EA Sports collaborate on MVP Carbon gaming headphones

Monster and EA Sports have jointly announced the MVP Carbon, a pair of gaming headphones, which is a first for Monster. The MVP Carbon headset brings simulated 5.1 surround sound through 30mm drivers. Naturally, you also get an integrated microphone (removable) for chat, and a headphone amplifier that Monster calls the "Gamebox."  Sugar Ray Leonard and Xzibit are working with Monster as ambassadors for the MVP Carbon, which go on sale in February for $269.95, and will be available in black and white, with glowing EA Sports logo. The MVP Carbon are compatible with Xbox 360, PS3, PC, Wii, and Wii U.

2012 Ford Focus Electric review

The 2012 Ford Focus Electric is the very first all-electric car released by the company, and is marketed as America's most fuel-efficient five-passenger vehicle, what with it's 110 MPGe city rating (99 MPGe highway) and up to 76 mile range on a single charge. Will fitness gadgets actually make us fit?

Over the past few years, a new category of gadget has emerged with the aim of quantifying our health. You know the ones--Fitbit. Nike FuelBand. JawBone Up. Withings Wi-Fi Scale (and Smart Activity Tracker!). Fitbit Aria Scale. The list goes on. There are trackers and scales from tons of companies that'll sync your details to their servers, share them with services of your choosing, giving you pretty graphs and hopeful motivation from friends and followers to do the right thing as it pertains to diet and exercise. After all, sitting is killing us. Are all of these gadgets actually moving the needle in terms of our fitness levels? Our friend, Dave Taylor, takes a closer look and chimes in with his toughts after the jump.

LG Optimus G review

The LG Optimus G was released a couple of months ago, and was a statement from LG that it would no longer be seen as a mid-range smartphone manufacturer. The company took its time with this one, focusing on a few key areas that it felt would set this phone apart from the wildly crowded Android smartphone pack, where Samsung has been recognized as the leader. The phone is available on both Sprint and AT&T for $199 with a two-year contract. The question is, did LG deliver? On the surface, it seems to have checked all the right boxes, what with 4G LTE, quad-core processor, Corning Gorilla Glass 2, and a 4.7-inch True HD IPS Plus display. Is it enough? Logitech Harmony Touch review

For a number of years, the Logitech Harmony One has been recognized as the best universal remote control, and now the company is back with the Harmony Touch. What's changed? Well, the Harmony Touch controls are focused mainly on its capacitive touchscreen, which is front and center. A lot of the typical controls that you'd typically have hardware keys for are moved to the touchscreen, which supports taps and swipe gestures. The goal here is to make is super easy for those of you who have a bunch of devices connected to your television or receiver, allowing you to swap between each with ease. A super-simple card trick anyone can do [Video!]

Here's a fun card trick that's fairly simple to pull off, and that you can teach children to do themselves.

"Remove any nine cards from an ordinary deck, shuffle them, and deal them face down into three piles. Choose any pile and note its bottom card. Then assemble the three piles into one, being sure to place the chosen pile on top.

Suppose the card you chose is the three of spades. Spell T-H-R-E-E, dealing one card face down onto the table with each letter. Place the remaining cards on top of these five and take up the whole packet. Now spell O-F, and again place the remaining cards on top of these two. Then spell S-P-A-D-E-S and place the remaining cards on top.

Now pick up the packet and spell M-A-G-I-C, dealing the final card face up. It's the three of spades."

Limited edition Surface Touch Covers with exclusive designs arrive February 9

Aside from the announcement of the Surface Pro launch date, Microsoft also announced today that it will be releasing three limited edition designs for its innovative Touch Cover. Expect a red model with elegant snake design for Chinese New Year, pink color with flowers, and a blue version emblazoned with skulls. These are truly limited edition, with Microsoft saying they'll be in store for just a short time. The limited Touch Covers will also come at a premium, costing $129.99 each, $10 more than the regular models.

Microsoft Surface Pro drops February 9 for $899

Microsoft has finally announced a launch date for its Surface Pro tablet: you'll be able to pick one up on February 9th. Yes, the device missed the promised January release timeframe, but we're talking 9 days here. That date, by the way, only pertains to the US and Canada, with international markets to follow in "the coming weeks and months" according to the company.

Surface Pro will be the first Microsoft tablet to run the full version of Windows 8, as opposed to the stripped down Windows RT. This means that you'll be able to install and run regular desktop applications on the tablet. It's a half pound heavier than Surface with Windows RT, but also brings a 1080p display and digitizer pen support. Oh, and a much higher price tag. Surface Pro will start at $899 for the 64GB model, and $999 for the 128GB version.
