It also includes a BD-Live-enabled Blu-ray player that has an iDock - basically an iPod dock that you can use to charge an iPod or iPhone.

Sprint LG Lotus 2 rocks outer touchscreen
Posted by Mark Rollins Categories: Cell Phones, Rumors
We never expected to see a basic phone like the LG Lotus get a sequel, but that’s apparently what’s happening, and the Lotus 2 seems to be upon us. The phone should be launching sometime in January, and will have the same QWERTY keyboard as featured on the original. As for differences, the Lotus 2 will replace the outer info screen with a touchscreen display, although, how useful a display that small will be with the added touch controls is questionable. In addition, the Lotus 2 will support 32GB microSD cards, up from 12GB on the original.

LG working on 15-inch OLED HDTV
Posted by Mark Rollins Categories: Displays, HDTV
I first saw Sony’s 11-inch OLED XEL-1 at CES almost two years ago. I couldn’t see myself paying so much ($2500) for such a tiny screen, even though it had, at the time, the best picture that I had ever seen for something only millimeters thin.
It would appear that LG is readying their own OLED HDTV, this one being a 15-incher. It will only be on sale in Korea, sometime in November. As of now, there are no pricing details, so just take solace in the fact that it’ll fall into the OMGExpensive category.

LG Whistle LV7500 phone lets you get creative
Posted by Mark Rollins Categories: Cell Phones, Design

Every once a while, you’ll encounter a great device, but it won’t be available anywhere where you live. Case in point: the Whistle phone from LG, which is releasing in the South Korean market.
I’m not certain why it is called the Whistle, as it emits no piercing sound other than its ringtone. Clearly, its biggest selling point is the 115 LED lights on the front panel, which will allow the user some pretty creative options that you see in the photo. The phone measure in at 102.8x51.5x14.9, packs in an internal 2.4-inch QVGA display, and the LED panel on the outside is 5x23.
Other features include automatic international roaming service in 18 countries and a car diary function, all for a price of $322.

Europe Chooses micro-USB Phone Charger Standard
Posted by Sheila Franklin Categories: Cell Phones, Peripherals
We wish that other places were as up to date technologically as Europe. Sony Ericsson, Nokia, RIM, Apple and other companies have joined with the European Union to standardize a universal USB cell phone charger next year. Not only will it be easier to only have one charger, it will be good for the environment. Phones built with the new standard in mind should start hitting European shelves next year.
