ZeeVee ZvBox Streams HD from Computer
Posted by Sheila Franklin Categories: Corporate News, HDTV, Misc. Tech, PC / Laptop,
Start-up company ZeeVee has a device that allows high-def web video and other content from your computer to be transmitted to any HDTV. Hook ZvBox to your monitor and it will broadcast to channel ZV, then goes through your cable. The company calls it “localcasting.”
CEO and co-founder Vic Odryna said, “...since ZvBox provides a duplication of what you see on your monitor, anything you can do on your computer you can now do on your HDTVs.”
The privilege doesn’t come inexpensively. Available in June, you can pre-order at Amazon for $499.99. At that price, it should turn any TV into HD.

The Latest Incredible Hulk Trailer
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Universal, Action, Adaptation, Adventure, Science Fiction, Trailers, Upcoming Releases,
While I think this trailer for The Incredible Hulk is definitely an improvement over the earlier version, I still don’t think there’s anything they could do to make that green guy look less cheesy.
And am I the only one who thinks they they should have kept that other ugly thing under wraps?
Edward Norton‘s version of The Incredible Hulk storms into theaters on June 13.

Ann Curry Gives The Soup More to Talk About
Regular watchers of The Soup are aware of the comedic material Ann Curry has provided Joel McHale. Ever since she repeated the phrase ‘Good Morning’ a gazillion times in one breath, the Today show co-host has become a fixture of the E! show. (If you haven’t seen that classic clip, you can watch it after the jump.)
Unfortunately, Curry made another a slip-up this morning that probably won’t get her off McHale’s mind anytime soon. Maybe she’s been secretly hoping for Katie Couric’s return to NBC?

Hollywood’s All-Time Low: Quarantine
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Action, Horror, Mystery, Thrillers, Scripts, Trailers, Upcoming Releases,
We all know that Hollywood rapes any movie they see as potential blockbuster meat, remaking any and every thing they possibly can. I never would have guessed, however, that they would go so low as to remake a film that was made just last year and has not even been released in the U.S. yet!
Yes, that’s right, a 2007 Spanish horror movie by the name of [Rec] already has an American remake that is due out this October, titled Quarantine. Both films follow an ambitious newswoman and her cameraman, off to cling to a story that does not end well.
The trailer for Quarantine, which you can see after the jump, has sparked quite some outrage, as fans are unimpressed by the remake, claiming it is a bad combination of 28 Days Later and Cloverfield. I personally am choosing not to support this atrocity, yet I know that Hollywood wins these battles because people go to see movies to see movies, no matter how unoriginal it is. If it looks remotely decent, anyone with ten dollars seems to jump on a movie like this.
Stand up in the fight against unoriginality, yes?

Mariah Carey’s Ridiculous Lingerie Closet
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Music, Television, Clothing, Videos, Editorials,
After yesterday’s tour of Mariah Carey‘s lingerie closet on Oprah, several questions came to mind.
I know the singer was in Africa when the talk show host opened up her girls school. Didn’t coming back home to something like this seem like such a waste?
Secondly, didn’t Mariah just tell everyone last month that she considered herself to be a prude? Who the heck is she wearing all this stuff for?
Tom Cruise’s Strangely Missing Accent
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: MGM, Action, Drama, Period, Political, Celebrity Gossip, Trailers, Upcoming Releases,

After viewing a teaser trailer for Valkyrie, I now see why Tom Cruise’s film may be in need of a few delays.
In this WWII movie, the actor plays Col. Claus von Stauffenberg - a German officer who plots to take down Adolf Hitler. Granted, I haven’t seen the film yet, but I highly doubt the character ever took voice lessons by watching videos of Mission Impossible.
You can listen to his laughable performance after the jump.

Video of Paris Hilton on Earl
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Prime Time, NBC, My Name Is Earl, Gossip, Video,
Question: Does repeating the same two words over and over again qualify as a cameo?
I never thought I would hear myself say this, but Paris Hilton’s appearance on My Name is Earl last night made Britney Spears look like an Emmy-worthy actress.
Apparently it’s not possible - even for comatose patients - to envision a better acting performance from Paris. (BTW - I’m referring to the speaking kind.)
Boomerang Comes Back in Space
Posted by Sheila Franklin Categories: Misc. Tech, Science, Transportation,
Good news for those of you who couldn’t wait to find out if a boomerang bounces back in space. According to astronaut Takao Doi, it does indeed. Chatting to his wife from the ISS, he confided that he was surprised but that it worked the same there as it does on the planet. Although there is no video evidence as yet, NASA says they will release some at a later date. Uh-huh. This reminds us of a “scare” many years back when skeptics of the space race claimed that we never made it to the moon and that it was simply faked on a movie set.
