Rihanna Won’t Stop Seeing Chris Brown
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Music, Break-ups, Meltdowns,
Rihanna won't stop seeing her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown just because other people want her to.
The 24-year-old star has attracted lots of criticism since she started meeting up with the 22-year-old singer again in recent months following his violent assault of her in February 2009 - for which he was convicted.
Rihanna even recorded the track "Birthday Cake" with Chris and although she doesn't expect her fans to understand her decision she is adamant it is hers to make.
"I respect what other people have to say. The bottom line is that everyone thinks differently. It's very hard for me to accept, but I get it. People end up wasting their time on the blogs or whatever, ranting away, and that's all right. I don't hate them for it. Because tomorrow I'm still going to be the same person. I'm still going to do what I want to do," she said in an interview with Elle.

Scarlett Johansson: I’m Not a Sex Symbol
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Movies,
Scarlett Johansson doesn't think of herself as a sex symbol. The 27-year-old actress is lusted after by men all over the world but she doesn't think of herself as a very attractive woman.
When quizzed on how she feels about being a "sexy icon," she said, "I don't know, I don't think of myself that way. It's alright for now. I'm convinced that obviously in a couple of years' time it will be somebody else. I won't be as interesting that way."
Scarlett doesn't think her sex symbol status has been cultivated by her films because she doesn't consider many of the characters she has portrayed to overtly sexual. The screen star - who can next be seen battling villains in a skin-tight catsuit as Black Widow in The Avengers - told Empire, "I actually have not played that many sexy characters! Of course you could say the characters I played maybe in Match Point, maybe in Black Dahlia [are sexy]. But the characters I play aren't really traditionally sexy, I don't think. I don't think I was particularly sexy in Lost in Translation or particularly sexy in The Other Boleyn Girl ... I think it's probably a reaction to the fact that I'm curvy and confident about it, maybe."
Whitney Houston’s Mother Speaks Out
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Music, Obituaries, Rumors,
Whitney Houston's mother has still not come to terms with her death.
Cissy Houston, 78, insists her daughter's tragic passing last month in the age of 48 hasn't made her question her religious faith, but she has still not fully accepted the tragedy.
"I have my moments ... I'm not there yet. I am a true believer in God. If I could bring her back I would, but that's not possible," she said.
Cissy praised her "wonderful" daughter and spoke of her pride in the "I Will Always Love You" hitmaker's career achievements: "She accomplished a whole lot in the short time that she had here. She was a wonderful person. She was very special to me. She was my only daughter, and a good one."
The gospel singer believes she did her best to raise Whitney - who had struggled with drug addiction in the past - the right way and doesn't have any regrets. "I know I did the best I could. I don't blame myself. I know I did the best I could for everything."

Jon Hamm Tells Mad Men Fans to Smoke and Drink
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Drama, Prime Time, Features,
Jon Hamm is proud that Mad Men makes people want to booze and smoke. The 41-year-old actor plays hard-drinking and hard-smoking character Don Draper in the 1960s advertising drama and he admits he has to smoke "a lot" of herbal cigarettes for the part.
Jon doesn't care that the show seemingly inspires viewers to live unhealthy lifestyles and he instead encourages it: "Someone actually watched the pilot and counted the number of cigarettes I smoked in that episode and it was something like 74. You can hear it in my voice, it is a debilitating endeavor. But we're being realistic - people did smoke back then. My father smoked everywhere, even in the car, in the summertime, with the windows up - it was part of life. I have read that watching the show makes some people at home want to smoke and drink. I think, well, knock yourself out."
Rather than find it difficult to play someone so different from himself, Jon enjoys it. He says it's particularly fun to shoot womanizer Don's love scenes because he has been in a committed relationship with actress-and-screenwriter Jennifer Westfeldt for 15 years.

The Cure Won’t Release New Songs

The Cure don't want to "capitalize" on their success by a releasing a new album.
The "Love Cats" band are headlining a number of major festivals over the summer, but have resisted requests to accompany the shows with new material because they would rather focus on putting on a good performance.
"We've been going for so long that we don't feel the urge to capitalize on everything all the time. I mean, we're headlining pretty much every major European festival and we won't have anything released. Anyone else would be tearing their hair out. They'll be like, 'You're idiots!' And perhaps we are. It's almost like we've gone full circle and we're back to the point where we're playing England's Reading and Leeds festivals and I'm solely doing it because I want to be a good day," singer Robert Smith said.
The singer - who has fronted the band since they formed in the 1977 - added he's not interested in releasing new songs unless they can stand up to the strength of the band's back catalogue:

Jorge Garcia was confident Alcatraz would be successful because of J.J. Abrams.
The 38-year-old actor - who worked alongside the Lost co-creator during his time playing Hugo "Hurley" Reyes on the show - knew he was in "safe hands" when he agreed to portray Dr. Diego "Doc" Soto in the new Fox TV series because he has so much confidence in the helmer.

Lana Del Rey Reveals Herself Through Lyrics
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Artist News, Gossip, Rumors, Alternative, Pop, New Releases,
Lana Del Rey thinks people "know" her through her lyrics.
The "Blue Jeans" star said thinks fans can relate to the realism of her gloomy lyrics and respect her for not compromising with her tracks.
"I think the people who sort of feel like they know me from my lyrics, and I think that they feel what I write about is what really went down and how I really feel about it. I think maybe what people who like me like about me is the fact that I really believe in myself and what I do and I never compromise with anything that I do in my life - not lyrically, not in reality. I never say anything just to rhyme over sugary pop songs. I really care about documenting my life in a musical fashion. So, I think, people that like me are actually artists," she told Los Angeles-based radio station KROQ.
Lana has proved a controversial figure since her debut single "Video Games," but added the version of her which people are debating is far from her actual personality. "The internet right now is creating their own person for themselves to play with. And that's their prerogative. I wrote every word on my album. There isn't nothing that I didn't write. And I really have done everything that I said I did do. I think the kids know that. The rest is just a story that somebody else made up."

Ashley Olsen Won’t Act Again
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Movies, Child Stars, Where Are They Now?,
Ashley Olsen is unlikely to ever act again.
The 25-year-old star - who made her acting debut aged just nine months alongside her twin Mary-Kate in Full House - hasn't appeared in a film since 2004's New York Minute and has no plans to return in front of the camera.
"We worked non-stop until we were 18. Then we decided to take a break and go to school - and that was when we decided to question whether we would carry on in entertainment. It was time to step behind the process. I wanted to work on other things. It doesn't mean I'm not interested in Hollywood, I like the way it operates and the people who are involved and the sense of possibility. But if I ever do get back in, it's not going to be as an actress."
Though Mary-Kate has made some film and TV appearances since New York Minute - including an eight-episode stint in Weeds - she also thinks it "felt right" to step away from acting.
"It just felt right to move away," she said.
