Selma Blair’s Dark Side

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Movies, Features,

Selma BlairSelma Blair often goes to a "darker side" of herself.

The Dark Horse actress does not think she has mental issues but does not always take on life in a positive way: "Just as my CV has light and dark sides, I suppose there are two sides to my own character. I go from being hugely popular and entertaining to really not. I'm not a manic depressive, but I can really go to the dark side."

Despite often turning away from major roles in favor of supporting ones, Selma reveals she was recently offered a reality TV show, something she turned down. "You have to do it all to make a living, unless you are Cate Blanchett. You have to write five books and come out with a line of socks. I got approached to do a reality show now so long ago. I decided I'm too much reality for anyone. I don't have the gaggle of goofy friends, and you have to do a lot of branding."

Selma is now looking forward to her life and is hopeful of where her career is going: "I am hopeful again. I want a good life and a great career more than I ever have. I don't know that I actually believed I deserved one until now."

Michael Kors’ Confident Clothes

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Celebrities, Fashion Designers,

Michael KorsMichael Kors believes women feel confident while wearing his designs.

The designer's creations are huge hit with females all over the world and Michael thinks it's because his clothes make people feel good about themselves.

"If I do my job right, when you get dressed in something I've designed, it helps to boost your confidence. A lot of people say, 'Well, if I was a celebrity, I would always be confident.' But let's be honest: If you've got the cameras on you, it's worse. For some reason, I've seen women at vulnerable moments go for Michael Kors. Jennifer Lopez, two days after she broke up with Ben Affleck, hit the red carpet in Michael Kors. Jennifer Garner has her first child, 10 days later she's presenting at the Academy Awards, Michael Kors. I think it's a confidence boost perhaps. Debra Messing told me after the first time we dressed her for Will & Grace, 'I loved how I look and the plus was I could actually move in this thing.'"

Karen Elson’s Catwalk Nerves

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Fashion Shows, Models,

Karen ElsonKaren Elson has an "anxiety attack" every time she does a catwalk show.

The model-and-singer admits she gets terrified whenever she has to walk down a runway so she doesn't really do fashion shows any more.

"Walking down a catwalk is terrifying. I am so useless, I have an anxiety attack every time I do it. I don't really do shows any more for that reason. Walking down a runway, with the lights, the music and all the faces looking at mend the terrifying high heels that are often, for me at least, way too big and falling off. I have these sudden panic attacks that I'm going to trip up. I almost will myself to fall. I really don't do a lot of shows. It would be fun to do them, but I'm terrified, absolutely terrified."

Karen also revealed when she's performing on stage, she likes her outfits to be as dramatic as possible: "I make it dramatic. I try and create a look, like, on my last record I had a lot of fringe. Fringy, fringy stuff. The band and I had a little look going. I think visually it's always good to have some kind of look going on. It makes the performance interesting."
