Nicolas Cage Sells Home to Renovate Castle

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Celeb News, Celebrity Gossip, Rumors,

Nicolas Cage and Alice KimNicolas Cage has sold one of his homes to help renovate his castle.

The Kick-Ass actor received a reported $6.6 million for the six-bedroom property in Bath, South West England, after deciding to put it on the market because he didn’t spend enough time there.

He is now putting all the money into nearby Midford Castle, which he bought in 2007 for around $8.2 million. The castle has been empty for two years, and Cage is focused on completely renovating the historic property—built in 1775—as he wants to make it his main UK home. The 45-year-old star has submitted planning permission to Bath and North Somerset Council, saying that the castle was in a poor condition and in need of repair to return it to its former “grandeur.”

Earlier this year, the National Treasure actor put the rest of his property empire—including homes in the Bahamas, California, Nevada and Rhode Island—on the market.

In May, Cage—who is married to former waitress Alice Kim, with whom he has a three-year-old son Kal-El—sold his 11th century German castle after only spending one night there, despite spending millions and three years renovating it.

Sony Adds 100,00 More Users To The Home Beta

PS3 Home Beta

has been trying to play catch up with Xbox Live ever since its inception, and they think they have the answer.  The upcoming release of Home is Sony’s attempt to bring a “Live” community to the PS3, but using their own style.  The Beta has been out for some time and it seems Sony wants it to be perfect before launching.  Today, they have added another 100,000 Beta testers to their program to allow them to enjoy Home, which allows Sony to iron out the bugs.  In case you have not been aware, Home is much like Second Life, but with game rooms, trophies and “Homes” for each of its players, where you can interact with one another.  It’s nice to see Sony trying to take the initiative and attempt something new for online communities, and the free price point makes it a nice alternative.  We’ll still have to wait and see if Home is all Sony claims it can be.

Boeing 727 Home

Boeing House

Pay attention, airlines. Here is a way to recap some of those losses. Imagine having a Boeing 727 as a home. The plane set Joanne Ussary back $2,000.00, cost $4,000.00 to move, and $24,000.00 to renovate. That’s not bad for a $30,000.00 investment. The stairs open with a garage door remote, and one of the bathrooms is still intact. And let’s not forget the personal jacuzzi in the cockpit. Sweet. The Boeing home is featured as part of a collection of creative conversions.

Mariah Carey’s Ridiculous Lingerie Closet

After yesterday’s tour of ‘s lingerie closet on Oprah, several questions came to mind.

I know the singer was in Africa when the talk show host opened up her girls school.  Didn’t coming back home to something like this seem like such a waste?

Secondly, didn’t Mariah just tell everyone last month that she considered herself to be a prude?  Who the heck is she wearing all this stuff for?

Michael Jackson Keeps Neverland Ranch

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Music, Sports, Legal Issues, Rumors,

Michael jacksonDespite coming narrowly close to losing his Los Olivos home, has managed to stay on as owner of Neverland Ranch.

The 2500-acre property was set to go on the auction block next week due to unpaid taxes.  Luckily for Jackson, his lawyers were able to work out a private agreement that would allow him to refinance his $24.5 million debt.

It’s unclear at this point whether the singer will opt to hang on to the home or attempt to sell it on his own terms.  Michael has not actually lived on the estate since the whole 2005 child molestation scandal.

David Beckham - Victoria’s better half - is one of the parties rumored to be interested in the property.
