Brooke Mueller’s Assault Charge ‘to be Dismissed’
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: D-List, Drugs, Legal Issues, Rumors,
Brooke Mueller's assault charge is "likely to be dismissed."
The 34-year-old star - who has two-year-old twin sons Bob and Max with ex-husband Charlie Sheen - was arrested in Aspen, Colorado, last December for the alleged assault of Llana Little and possession of cocaine.
However, while she will still face a judge in several weeks under the drugs charges, the battery case looks likely to be thrown out of court due to lack of evidence.
"The assault charge will likely be dismissed because the evidence just doesn't prove that Brooke touched Llana Little. The women exchanged heated words, but Brooke is absolutely adamant that she didn't lay a finger on Llana and the district attorney is inclined at this point to recommend the charge be dismissed. This doesn't mean that Brooke is totally off the hook though. She will plead no contest to a misdemeanor cocaine possession charge and she will likely be sentenced to community service and ordered to pay a fine. She won't do any jail time though because she is considered a first time offender and this is the sentence that anyone in a similar situation would face," a source told RadarOnline.com.

Bruno Mars Cocaine Case Dismissed
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Music, Drugs, Legal Issues,
Bruno Mars' cocaine possession charge was dismissed by a judge on Wednesday.
The "Grenade" singer - who was arrested in Las Vegas in September 2010 after being caught with the substance in the toilets of the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino - will have the case officially wiped from his criminal record after pleading guilty back in January 2011.
At the time, the judge presiding over the case ruled the 26-year-old star should pay a fine of $2,000, complete 200 hours of community service and undertake drug education classes. However, Bruno - who previously admitted he "did a foolish thing and has never used drugs before" the incident - has now exceeded the amount of required community service after logging more than 230 hours working for children's and health-related charities, TMZ.com reports.
Blair Berk, the singer's lawyer, appeared in court on his behalf to see the charge officially dismissed. After initially hearing the charges would be dismissed, the "Just The Way You Are" hitmaker - born Peter Hernandez - explained he was "appreciative" that he wouldn't be convicted for possession. "Bruno is very appreciative he is being given this opportunity as a first offender not to suffer any conviction and instead to have his charge dismissed. He is taking all of this quite seriously," Mr. Berk said at the time.

Like daughter, like father: Michael Lohan has been sentenced to two years probation.
The 51-year-old showbiz patriarch - who is the father of troubled actress Lindsay Lohan - entered a plea of no contest to four domestic violence charges in a Tampa, Florida court yesterday, but escaped a possible four-year jail sentence.
"He will not serve any jail time," said his lawyer Michael Perry.
In addition to probation, Michael - who was arrested following an altercation with former fiancee Kate Major on October 25 - will spend four months working at the Teen Challenge International program and must undertake domestic violence classes and his lawyer hopes he will "benefit" from the sentence.
"I believe he was pleased with the result, he should be. It was a good result and it will benefit him," said his lawyer.

Former Dior creative director John Galliano has been found guilty of racist and anti-Semitic behavior.
The British designer - who was facing charges of "casting public insults based on origin, religious affiliation, race or ethnicity" by French authorities - was ordered by a Paris court yesterday to pay a total fine of 17,500 euros, but escaped prison. The maximum penalty in France for insulting someone on the basis of their origin, religious affiliation, race or ethnicity is six months in jail and a fine of 22,500 euros.
Galliano - who was not in court - was arrested in February of this year following an alteration with a couple outside a Paris cafe, in which he used racist and anti-Semitic language. A video was then released of him in a Paris bar last October, verbally abusing a woman and proclaiming his love for Nazi leader Adolf Hitler.

Lindsay Lohan has completed her house arrest. The troubled actress - who was sentenced to the confinements of her Californian home for 35 days in May in lieu of jail time after taking a necklace from an upmarket boutique store and violating the terms of her 2007 conviction for driving under the influence (DUI) - walked out of the property yesterday afternoon, but instead of throwing a party, she made her way to the Los Angeles Downtown Women's centre, to begin her 480 hours of court-ordered community service.
"I'm excited to start community service and focus on my work," she said when asked how she felt to be free again.

Eva Mendes Gets Three-Year Restraining Order
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Movies, Legal Issues,
Actress Eva Mendes has been granted a three-year extension of her restraining order against her stalker. Mendes - who has claimed she had been living in "constant fear" of John C. Luna, who she says has been harassing her since 2008 - asked for an extension to the temporary order and it was approved by Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Carol Boas Goodson after Luna didn't oppose it.
"I'm surprised he agreed to this, but his signature and initials are there," Goodson said.
In her legal papers - which were filed earlier this month - Eva stated, "As a result of Mr. Luna's conduct directed at me ... including references in a letter that he knows I am willing to die for him, and his showing up at my house on May 31, 2011, looking for me, I am in constant fear."
"I do not personally know, nor have any relationship with Mr. Luna, have never had any personal communications with him, nor do I desire any interaction or communication with him whatsoever," she added.
The order states Luna must stay at least 100 yards away from Eva and must not make any attempts to contact her.

Former Dior creative director John Galliano will attend his trial this week. The troubled fashion designer has been in rehab since he allegedly made anti-Semetic remarks in a Paris cafe in February, but insiders say he will be in court in the French capital for the initial hearing on Wednesday.
"John is still in rehab. The treatment will be long and arduous - and ongoing for a long time in the future - but he is humble, apologetic and hopeful that he can recover," a source said.
The initial hearing - which will be held in front of three judges but no jury as it is a minor offence - is expected to last between four and five hours, with witnesses from both sides giving evidence. The 50-year-old designer - who was fired from Dior over his remarks - is expected to blame a drug and alcohol addiction for the tirade, while his lawyer Aurelien Hamelle admits John can't remember the alleged incident.
"He does not remember because he was in an altered state... They do not reflect what he thinks. He's not anti-Semitic or racist," said Hamelle.
