Samsung HMX-R10 HD Camcorder

Samsung has a nifty design with its HMX-R10 HD Camcorder. Flip out its 2.7-inch LCD touchscreen with TouchUI control that they promise to be responsive and simple to use. With a 5x zoom lens that angles up to 25º, it also has a flash, captures up to 600 fps in H.264 format, takes 9MP still photos and can store 1920x1080 videos on SD/SDHC cards. The cam was released this week in Korea with a price of ~$499.99, but we wouldn’t be surprised if it made it to the States this holiday season.

Sony TG5V Handycam Camcorder

Sony has unveiled its Handycam TG5V, an upgrade from their TG1. The new camcorder is smaller at 30 x 117 x 62mm, lighter (230g,) and has 16GB memory with about 6 hours of recording. It also has a 30mm wide angle lens, BIONZ and Exemor image processor, GPS, and a new coating to help keep it scratch-free. The TG5V will become available April 20 in Japan. No details on importing or price has yet to be released.

Crayola Electronics for Kids

Crayola realizes that tots are as likely to play with electronics as crayons these days and has a new line designed with them in mind. Their USB EZ Type Keyboard, for $29.99, has bright, oversized keys, but has eliminated the function keys and number pad. The USB EZ Click Mouse, at $14.99, has two buttons, a scroll wheel and a clear body, just for the cutesy effect. Crayola also offers a digital camcorder and camera and an MP3 Player is due out in Q2.

Digital Blue Lego Animation Station Camcorder

We told you how Lego was going to start offering electronic products for kids. Take a look at their Animation Station Video Camera that has a 1.4-inch color LCD flip-out display, record/function buttons, a 5-way navigational pad and a detachable remote. The cam comes complete with a how-to guide for amateur photographers as well as editing software. Digital Blue has plans to release it either late summer or early fall with a retail price of $79.99.

As we have mentioned many times before, we love our Flip and this is a fine excuse to tell someone that you care while giving him/her a really cool gift. Digital Blue has teamed with Lego to bring an entire line of kids’ gadgets out to play. Included in the series will be a digital cam, a video camera, MP3 player, walkie talkie and other electronics. Although they will have the look of the blocks, fortunately the users cannot dissemble them. Look for a summer release. We bet this would be a good gift for those Lego addicted friends of yours as well as the kidlets.

Sony Webbie HD Mini-Camcorder

It’s Sony’s turn to join in on the inexpensive, YouTube loving camcorders. The Webbie produces up to 8.5 hours of HD MPEG-4 video or thousands of 5 MP images. At a size of 2.4 x 1.7-inches, it houses a CMOS sensor and records on the company’s ultra-small Memory Stick PRO Duo media. The Webbie also features a 2.5 swivel screen, an 5x optical zoom and simplified software at a price of $199.99. This spring, they will also have an upright Webbie available for $169.99.

Canon FS200 Flash Memory Camcorder

Canon’s latest flash memory camcorder will be making its debut at the soon to be CES 2009. The FS200, available in silver, wine or blue, features the company’s Quick Charge, which reduces battery charging time, 41X advanced zoom, a DIGIC DV II Image Processor and a 680k CCD image sensor. It also has a 2.7-inch widescreen LCD, image stabilization, and mic and headphone jack. While no price is available as yet, look for the Canon FS200 to come out sometime this month.

JVC Everio GZ-MS100 Camcorder

Last year we introduced you to the JVC Everio GZ-HD7 Camcorder, now say hello to JVC’s entry into the Flipvideo category. The GZ-MS100 is their first SD-based standard budget cam with one-button upload to YouTube via included Cyberlink software. It can support MPEGs, 2 channel Dolby Digital and JPEG stills. The horizontal device has a Konica Minolta Lens, a 35X optical zoom, Laser Touch Operation, and a 680,000K CMOS sensor. Due out in June, the GZ-MS100 carries a MSRP of $349.00.

Canon PIXMA iP100 Mobile Printer

Canon has just released its PIXMA iP100 Mobile Printer. It can deliver color and monochrome documents, charts, graphics, and photos. It has a speed of up to 20 ppm and a PictBridge port to connect to a digital cam or DV camcorder without using a computer. Choose from photo sizes of 4 x 6, 4 x 8, 5 x 7, 8 x 10-inch, and letter size in portrait, scenery, snapshot, or other modes. With a color resolution of 9600 x 2400 dpi1, the iP100 is available for $499.95.
