We just hit you with our full Apple iPad Smart Case review, and you should really check that out if you're considering picking up Apple's first full case for its popular tablet. In addition to the written review, we've put together a gallery of images showing off the good and the bad--and there's a lot of bad in our mind. As you'll see, ports don't line up with the holes in the case, and there's an odd lip all around the perimeter that just makes it awkward to hold. Go and judge for yourself in our iPad Smart Case gallery, and let us know what you think.

Super Modern Mario Bros. makes Mario unrealistically realistic (video!)
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Culture, Nintendo, Platformers, Trailers,

Check out the video below for Super Modern Mario Bros. It's a novel concept dreamed up by a gamer, removing a lot of the cutesy Mario-ness, dialing up the level of seriousness by removing the music and adding realistic sound effects. It’s a bit more violent, too, with Goombas exploding and Mario crashing to his untimely demise when he leaps towards the end-of-level flag and fails to successfully grab hold and slide down. Look, just watch it--it's way more fun than reading our description!

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Apple, Corporate News, Internet, Music, Rumors,

Apple's Ping, the music-based social network that has struggled to find any sort of dedicated fanbase, is set to be killed off with the next iTunes update and the public release of iOS 6, according to The Wall Street Journal. According to the publication:
Ping, which still exists today in iTunes 10.6.3 and the iOS 6 beta - where it doesn't work, will be gone with the software's next major release, likely scheduled for this fall. And at that point Apple's social networking offerings will shift to Twitter and new partner Facebook entirely.
We don't know too many people who'll miss it. Ping has been a far too barren wasteland for far too long. If its something you enjoy, though, then start saying your goodbyes.
