E Ink Watch

Phosphor has developed digital watches that are not only ergonomic but utilize E Ink in their displays. There are two modes, a standard numeric digital display and a graphic analog hour clock, and you can switch between them depending on your mood. The display autonomously switches between white-on-black to black-on-white time each passing minute. If you like your timepiece busy, the water-resistant watches run $175.00 to $195.00, depending on your choice of style.

Steven SpielbergFans of Steven Spielberg, Ludacris, Bradgelina, Mickey Rourke and Tina Fey can own a piece of their idols with the Stars for a Cause Auction May 28 in LA. Jewelry, clothing and posters are all up for bid from Golden Globe winners as well as bottles of champagne signed, appropriately enough, by the likes of Paul Giamatti and others. Sign up online if you would like to be part of the event and you could be the owner of William Shatner’s designer shoes, although he did withdraw his “celestial” cufflinks.

Under Armor

The Baltimore-based company Under Armour was founded by Kevin Plank, a former football player who wanted a better T-shirt. His apparel is warn by many athletes and will now include “recharge,” a 2 piece body suit that pushes excess water from muscles to the bloodstream and relieves aches and pains. Based on research from the Univ. of Connecticut and Under Armour, the suit could be available by July for ~$200.00 for both pieces. We hope it will soon be there for the rest of us that could use some comfort after an extreme workout.

Star Trek TIt didn’t take long for makers of flashing t-shirts to come up with one for the new Star Trek movie. Although you cannot beam up with it, it should probably scare any Klingons or fashionistas away. The battery pack is in the cotton shirt’s lining, is removable for washing and needs 4 AAA batteries (not included.) Choose from medium, large or extra large and live long and prosper in the officially licensed shirt that will cost you 29.95 GBP (~$46.00.)

The iTie is a unique idea that combines the formal apparel with a hidden pocket in the back. Store business cards, credit cards, honey do lists, pens, Certs or your MP3 player, although there is no way to disguise those earplugs. A larger version is being developed for iPhones, BlackBerrys and other larger handhelds. Because they are individually homemade the cost will vary, so you need to contact them to order one.The scary thing about this clothing is that they think they need Billy Mays to hock it (check out the product page.)

Plasma ClipWe dig those old plasma displays and now you can wear one. The Plasma Belt Clip has two settings, always on or sound sensitive, responds to touch, needs 2 AAA batteries (not included) to run, weighs a mere 5 kg and comes with a clip to attach to your belt or clothing. We would suggest the latter, but it might just be a decent ice breaker at parties. The clip will be available for £12.99 (~$19.00) beginning in June.

Decider WatchCrispin Jones, of the MJW watches and the Tengu, has a new design. The New Decider helps you make those split second choices. When someone asks you a question, simply look at the magnified dial for a yes/no answer. While it may not be the correct answer, you can always reinforce it by rechecking the watch (or blaming it.) The Decider is only available in a Special Edition of 100 with its number engraved on the back of the case for $145.00.
