Kelli Anderson’s twist on reality and generating creativity from TED
Posted by Andrey Malskiy Categories: Design, Videos,
Imagine a piece of paper that could play sounds, solar powered popscicles, or the New York Times being optimistic. What do these things have in common? Nothing really, apart from the general constraints of our perception of our reality. We all know that paper isn’t audible and is instead flat and used for printing and writing. However, are the rules that we follow also holding us back from our own creativity? Check out this video from TED, as Kelli Anderson from isnorenaked.com (that’s Kelli Anderson rearranged) gives reality a twist!

Photographing the Lamborghini Aventador like a boss using a light on a stick and Forza 4
Posted by Andrey Malskiy Categories: Design, Transportation, Video Games, Videos,
I may not shoot often, but when I do I make sure I shoot like a boss. Now, grante,d access to the most expensive equipment may not always be something that you can count on, but regardless of what camera you've got, lighting is key in any shot. Apart from solid lighting, thinking outside the box may also be necessary, as Blair Blunting uses Forza 4 to get inspiration for shooting the Lamborghini Aventador. Don’t believe us? Check out the video above!

This is how easy it is to fool a TSA body scanner
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Misc. Tech, Transportation, Videos,
Well, this is a it alarming. You know those crazy TSA body scanners that blast you with radiation and can pretty much make you appear naked in the scanned image? Well, apparently, they are easier to trick than a regular old metal detector. More invasive, potentially hazardous to your health, and not as good as the faster, simpler, and more efficient metal detector. Hopefully this opens up some eyes, raises some eyebrows, and results in quick change. More at the link below, which we recommend sending to your local government representatives in the hopes that action is taken.

Video: Poop-powered Volkswagen New Beetle roams the streets of Bristol
Posted by Andrey Malskiy Categories: Science, Transportation, Videos,
From what we can see, Translogic has gotten its hands on some sick modes of transportation. This, by far, has got to be the most creative and, shall we say, natural way, to get a Volkswagen New Beetle moving. The Beetle, also known as the Geneco Bio Bug, runs on human waste, though that might sound crude, there's more to it than you might think. It runs on something they refer to as biogas, a mixture of methane and carbon dioxide. Check the video above, shot on location at the Wessex Water waste treatment plant in England, to see what the poop-powered Beetle is all about.

Video shows iPad 3 Retina display
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Apple, Displays, Handhelds, Rumors, Videos,
The other day we filled you in on details about the iPad 3, which will feature a 2048x1536 display, as confirmed by our friends at MacRumors. Now, the folks over at iFixIt are chiming in, explaining the process of figuring out that the purported iPad 3 panel will feature a Retina Display. Check out the video above for the details. Of course, Apple has yet to officially announce anything having to do with the next iPad, and won't be saying anything until March 7, so this is all just a hypothesis. Nevertheless, this is what's gonna happen. Expect it!

Dude avoids extortion thanks to having dash cam installed in his car
Posted by Andrey Malskiy Categories: Cameras, Transportation, Videos,
For those that drive on a daily basis, we’re sure you all have your horror stories to tell, and we’re sure some are just too good to believe. That said, when the issue is pressed can you prove that what you say is true, or will it be our word against yours? We hate to give you a reality check, but the law may not always be on your side; even if you’re not at fault. Here in Washington, if you hit someone from behind, it’s automatically your fault. How could you prove that you were completely stopped and that the person in front of you rolled backwards into you? If you're like the dude in the video above, the answer is simple. Install a dash cam. Sure, it may seem nerdy, but at least it got him out of paying $500 for something that wasn't his fault. Check out the video above for the full story.

Last week we showed you a few sneak peaks at Super Bowl ads focused on cars. Now that the Big Game is over, we wanted to hand it to Chevy GM for making a commercial worth viewing.
The spot takes place in a post-apocalyptic world. The Chevy rises from the ashes, unscathed, and drives away. The end of the commercial is what made us laugh. Chevy had the guts to take a blatant stab at Ford. Though that’s a ballsy move on its behalf, I’d suggest they take a closer look at the competition before calling them out. I’d like to draw your attention to the Ford video below. You can watch a Chevy drive away from a CGI apocalyptic hell, or you can watch a Ford drive away after being tossed around in a hurricane. You be the judge.

Here in the U.S., we’re familiar with the semi-trucks we share the highways with during our commutes and rely on to deliver our goods...but seeing a semi as a taxicab, that’s something unheard of. Europe’s semi truck manufactures take pride in their products, and one brand in particular is out to prove they’re the best. That brand is Mercedes-Benz. It's have won Truck of the Year for its newly redesigned Actros. However, that wasn’t enough for the Mercedes. So someone got the bright idea of using an Actros as a taxicab. However, the Actros was set to pick up customers from competing manufactures such as Volvo and Man. Watch a video of their reactions after the jump!
