Greet Your Buds with Yodio
Posted by Sheila Franklin Categories: Cameras, Smartphones, Internet, Music,

This appears to be the latest idea in spam just by using your cell phone. With Yodio (created out of the terms “you” and “audio,”) you record an MP3 audio tag line on your phone, call the website and post it, add images and captions, and send it to unsuspecting folks’ e-mail addys or blogs. If you just want to use the beta service to wish your parental unit a happy Mother’s Day in a 2 minutes or less e-card, Yodio is free, but if you want to create a mini-commercial or tour you set a price, and Yodio will pay you royalties.
The only problem here is that you can only use the tool on their site and must link to it to see your work of art. To get you started, the site has a practice run and is now offering a $10.00 reward if you can get five people to view your creation.

miLite Shows Off your Nano
Posted by Sheila Franklin Categories: Accessories, Apple, Music, Portable Audio / Video,
We find these miLites to be an overactive way to show others just how ostentatious you can be. They come from b2, the company that generally sells digital musical instruments. As of now, they are only available for the iPod nano, but you can choose from techni, denim, matrix, purple haze, lace, and loops designs. Hold onto the sensor switch and impress all the other PMPs in the room. Get one of these mini-hallucinogens online at the b2 Lounge for $19.98, where an optional neck strap is also available.

Brica Reveals New All-In-One
Posted by Sheila Franklin Categories: Cameras, Misc. Tech, Movies, Music, Portable Audio / Video,
Brica has come out with an All-In-One that sounds cool but may be just too good to be true. It features a Video Recorder that creates 320 x 240 ASF files from DVD or TV, a 2 megapixel still camera, an image viewer that displays JPGs, an FM mono tuner, a sound recorder for MP3 files, an eBook Viewer that can read TXTs, and a PictBridge connection for printers. Available in black or silver at a price of $265.00, what even disturbs us more than its meager capacity of 512 internal memory is the combination, for we remember how difficult it was to repair our ailing TV/VCR combo when the recorder only needed a new belt.

Joost has finally announced that they are now open for business. This means that if you are a beta tester you can now issue invitations for all your buds to join up as well. How truly clever of them to distribute it by word of “mouth.” Spokesperson Brian Baumly also told Gear Live that Turner will be distributing content such as CNN, Adult Swim, Sports Illustrated, Sony Pictures, and the NFL on their service. I would personally invite all Gear Livers to relish in the glories of this free online television, if I could just remember my password.
